Voting Rights Under Attack: Inside the Good Trouble Protest
"He called it 'Good Trouble' — now, in Oceanside, California, a new generation is picking up where John Lewis left off. We went straight to the crowd to ask the question everyone's afraid to answer: is America's right to vote actually in danger?" Mediafactore attended the "Good Trouble" voting rights rally in Oceanside, California, held in honor of civil rights icon and congressman John Lewis. The event brought together community members and organizers concerned about voting rights, election integrity, and escalating violence tied to immigration enforcement. Key themes covered in the interviews: Honoring John Lewis's Legacy: Attendees reflected on what "Good Trouble" means to them — framing it as a call to courage and civic engagement in defense of voting rights for all Americans, particularly communities historically denied full access to the ballot. The Cost of Silence: One protester argued that disengagement carries real consequences — citing rising costs, stagnant wages, and wealth concentration — and framed activism as essential to protecting basic rights. ICE Violence and Accountability: An event organizer discussed a string of recent deaths connected to ICE operations, including incidents in Texas, Maine, Florida, and Georgia. The organizer raised concerns about inadequate training, lack of body camera use, and what they described as insufficient accountability for use-of-force incidents, while stating that ICE claims about "targeting violent criminals" have not matched the demographics of who is actually being targeted. Free Speech and Media Concerns: The organizer expressed concern about efforts to use domestic terrorism charges against protesters, along with broader worries about media independence and press freedom. Election Interference Concerns: Attendees discussed Trump's public claims about the 2020 election and expressed concern this rhetoric could foreshadow attempts to interfere with the 2026 midterms. They pointed to civic organizations like Indivisible as resources for citizens wanting to get involved in election protection efforts. Reaction to Secretary of State Rubio's Remarks: The organizer reacted strongly to comments from Secretary of State Marco Rubio characterizing left-wing political expression as a form of terrorism, calling the rhetoric dangerous and anti-democratic. A Moment of Levity: The video closes on a lighter note, with young children at the rally sharing their own simple take on the political moment. "Good trouble starts with showing up — and staying informed. Hit Subscribe and ring the Bell so you never miss the stories mainstream media won't cover." Note: The above reflects the stated views and claims of rally attendees interviewed in the video, not necessarily independently verified facts. Viewers should be aware this content presents one perspective on contested political events. #GoodTrouble #VotingRights #JohnLewis #ProtectTheVote #Election2026 #ICEAccountability #CivilRights #Democracy #GrassrootsActivism #StandUpSpeakOut

When will local police speak out against the violent tactics of ICE? Federal agents in unmarked cars are routinely chasing, ramming and killing civilian drivers. Doesn't this put ALL police officers at risk by stoking fear, distrust, and resentment that could cause incidents at normal traffic stops?

The Texas 8: How Trump Is Turning Protest Into A Crime. Trump's DOJ is charging protesters with "domestic terrorism" for texting about fireworks — sentencing them to up to 100 years. Voters react to the Texas 8 case and what it means for free speech and the midterms. tinyurl.com/65fy3p4s
The Texas Eight: How Trump Is Turning Protest Into A Crime
Trump's DOJ says texting friends about a Fourth of July fireworks show is "conspiracy to commit terrorism" — and it's putting peaceful protesters behind bars for up to 100 years. Mediafactore hit the streets of Poway, California to ask voters what they think about the case of the "Texas 8," and whether these scare tactics will stop them from protesting or voting this November. This video captures on-the-ground, person-on-the-street interviews from a peaceful protest in Poway, California, where Mediafactore asked attendees for their reactions to a Trump administration prosecution effort known as the "Texas 8" case. Key points raised by interviewees and framed in the video include: The core allegation: The DOJ has charged a group of individuals connected to a planned peaceful protest in Texas — some who attended and some who did not — with domestic terrorism, resulting in sentences ranging from 30 to 100 years, longer than typical sentences for violent crimes. Evidence used by prosecutors: Use of the encrypted messaging app Signal (used daily by millions of privacy-conscious Americans) and text messages discussing meeting up for a Fourth of July fireworks display were cited as evidence supporting a "conspiracy to commit terrorism" charge. The "Antifa" framing: Several interviewees argue the administration is using the specter of a formally organized "Antifa" to justify arrests of political opponents, despite no such formal organization existing. Perceived double standard: Interviewees point out that Trump's own cabinet used Signal in 2025 to discuss a military strike, a chat that inadvertently included a journalist — raising questions of hypocrisy given prosecutors are treating Signal use by protesters as suspicious. Chilling effect concerns: Protesters connect the case to broader worries about detention centers, intimidation of get-out-the-vote organizers, and deployment of federal agents near polling places, framing these as attempts to suppress turnout ahead of the midterm elections. Media coverage gap: Multiple interviewees state that mainstream/corporate media has largely ignored the story, and express concern that public awareness is too low given the stakes. Resolve to keep protesting and voting: Despite the legal risks highlighted by the case, every protester interviewed says the charges will not deter them from continuing to protest or from voting in the upcoming midterms. Local relevance: The video draws a local comparison to the San Diego County Fair's fireworks organizers, asking whether they too should be considered domestic terrorists under the same legal theory — underscoring how interviewees view the prosecution's logic as absurd when applied evenhandedly. Don't let this story stay buried. Subscribe to Mediafactore for more on-the-ground reporting that corporate media won't touch — and hit the bell so you never miss a video protecting your right to know. Are you a member of a book club? Do you own a printer, stapler, or first aid kit? Trump's DOJ says that makes you a domestic terrorist eligible for a 50-year prison sentence. Protesters in Oceanside say they're not intimidated and Trump is the one who is scared. Learn why: tinyurl.com/5ud5twvj
Trump's Fear Tactics Are Failing - Voters Say He's the One Who Is Scared
Do you own a stapler, a printer, or a first aid kit? According to Trump's Department of Justice, that might just make you a domestic terrorist — and voters in Oceanside, CA have something to say about Trump's latest fear tactic. 1. The "Everyday Items" Test Mediafactore journalists attended an anti-Trump rally in Oceanside, CA and asked attendees whether they owned items that were used as evidence against protesters in Prairie Land, Texas — including book club membership, a computer printer, a stapler, and a first aid kit. All three respondents said yes to most or all items, illustrating how broadly the DOJ has defined "domestic terrorist" activity. 2. The Prairie Land, Texas Sentencing Anti-ICE protesters in Prairie Land, TX received sentences of 50 years or more in prison. Voters expressed outrage, noting the case was presided over by right-wing activist judge Reed O'Connor — whose rulings have a history of being appealed and overturned. Attendees see the extreme sentencing as a deliberate strategy to suppress future protest activity nationwide. 3. Fear Tactics Are Not Working Despite the severity of the sentences, all three voters interviewed said they are not intimidated and will continue protesting. One respondent called Trump, ICE, and the DOJ "gutless wonders." Another said her husband warned her about increased harassment, but they agreed together to keep showing up. 4. Trump's SAFE Act & Housing Obstruction Voters also addressed Trump's refusal to sign bipartisan housing affordability legislation unless Congress passes his SAFE Act — a bill critics say would disenfranchise millions of voters, particularly women. Respondents largely agreed this move reflects both a disregard for working Americans and his fear of what happens if Democrats win the midterms. 5. Is Trump Afraid of Being Removed? All three voters agreed that Trump's behavior — from weaponizing the DOJ to blocking popular legislation — reflects deep fear of impeachment and removal from office after the midterms. One voter noted that his actions are "so illegal and immoral" that he has every reason to be terrified of the consequences. Senators Sanders, Warren, Schumer, Wyden & Duckworth sent a “strongly worded” letter to Trump and RFK Jr. today criticizing the administration’s Moms.gov website. Better late than never. We reported on the website in early May and called it out as just another Trump scam. tinyurl.com/4dyhnssj
Is Trump Scamming Expectant Mothers? Voters say "No" to Moms.gov & Trump's "Baby Bump"
California moms gathered in Del Mar to expose Moms.gov as a Trump scam that funnels vulnerable women to fake clinics. "Our government has never been this corrupt," one mother said. They want healthcare — not cons. The Trump administration launched Moms.gov on Mother's Day — and actual moms in California have some very choice words about it. From fake clinics to Trump Accounts to RFK Jr.'s obsession with sperm counts, these women are done being lied to. Mediafactore was there to listen to their unfiltered reactions to Trump and the Moms.gov website — and what they had to say was pointed, passionate, and impossible to dismiss. Moms.gov: Resource Hub or Political Scam? Attendees were nearly unanimous in their assessment of Moms.gov: it is not a resource for pregnant women, it is a political vehicle. Rather than offering genuine support, the site directs users to Christian anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers and promotes offerings like Trump Accounts — a $1,000 savings gimmick that mothers at the rally dismissed as a con. One attendee warned that women who use the site risk having their personal information weaponized against them and being funneled toward fake clinics that spread dangerous medical misinformation. "Our government has never been this corrupt in the history of our country," she said flatly. What Moms Actually Need When asked what real support for mothers and families would look like, attendees were clear: single-payer healthcare, paid maternity leave, and affordable, reliable childcare. Several pointed out the cruel irony of an administration that claims to be pro-family while cutting reproductive healthcare and offering no serious investment in the infrastructure that working parents actually depend on. "They just don't care about offering prenatal care," one mother said. "It's just a mess." The "Under-Babied" Delusion Dr. Oz's claim that one in three Americans are "under-babied" and his prediction of a coming wave of "Trump babies" landed with a thud among Del Mar rally attendees. Mothers pushed back sharply, connecting the administration's pro-natalist rhetoric to the economic chaos created by Trump's tariffs, energy costs, and foreign policy failures — conditions they say make expanding a family feel less possible, not more. One attendee noted bluntly: "I can't figure out why anybody would believe him." RFK Jr. and the Wrong Priorities Health and Human Services Secretary RFK Jr.'s focus on declining sperm counts drew open derision from attendees, particularly in light of the fact that the United States has the highest maternal mortality rate among wealthy nations and ranks 33rd out of 38 in infant mortality. "I'm sorry you have a low sperm count, dude — it's not really my problem," one mother said, adding that she was "depressed" that someone she considers a fool holds one of the most consequential health positions in the country. Women Are Watching — and Voting Threading through every conversation was a sharp awareness of the political stakes. From the suggestion that the SAVE Act could threaten married women's voting rights to the broader pattern of an administration that treats women as demographic targets rather than citizens, attendees made clear they are energized, angry, and paying close attention heading into the midterms. Help Us Spread the Word If you're a mom — or you love one — and you're tired of an administration that uses Mother's Day as a photo op while doing nothing to actually support mothers, subscribe to Mediafactore for ground-level coverage of the real people pushing back. Hit the bell icon so you never miss a rally, a reaction, or a moment of truth from voters who've had enough. #MomsGov #TrumpScam #RealMomsResist #DelMarRally #SanDiegoPolitics #MaternalHealth #PaidLeaveNow #AntiTrump #MidtermElections #WomensRights #independentmedia
