Art is long, US administrations are short. Three cheers to our PM and all Canadians who said “enough” last night! The latest illegal US tariffs on Canada will effectively stop sales to the U.S. — but don’t let that stop us making art and celebrating what’s good in life ❤️

It looks as if “drawings” are included in the new 50 % tariffs that the U.S. is slapping on Canada (illegally, again). Now it’s personal 😏

Over the last 10 yrs, sharpshooters hired by the B.C. govt have killed hundreds of wolves from helicopters to "save" struggling caribou herds. The real cause of caribou decline isn't wolves, though - it's habitat destruction.
This isn't endangered species conservation, BC. It's willful ignorance.

Making progress on four young Cooper’s hawks, based on photos I took on the last day I saw them all in the nest (July 11). I haven’t begun the fourth yet; am hoping to give a sense of them spilling out :) I still visit them, but they are getting harder to track! #SciArt #Birds

Ordinarily, late morning is the best time for me to draw because of the natural light, but today it’s too dark because of wildfire smoke. I can only imagine how awful this must be for people in northern Ontario 😢 We know fires are more common now, and larger. Why are we not more proactive?
