Absolutely wild that there are folks out there (on this site, even) that, in the midst of this otherworldly shit show we're all experiencing, are still trying to justify not voting for Kamala because she campaigned with Liz Cheney.
Read the wrong thing for Property last class (😬🤦‍♀️)
Thankfully, I wasn't on-call

Catching up...

Landlord's argument that parties are free to contract as they wish and courts shouldn't rewrite an unambiguous contract to add reasonableness terms is... stellar

He lost, but it was an admirable effort 😂

Defendant: *Nonsensical Sov Cit Rant*

Judge: Thank you for that demonstration of why you're not going to be allowed to represent yourself.

🤣🙌🤣

The guy on Tik-Tok who is live blogging his inability to get a job in the legal field just posted that he liked all of his law professors ... with an exception of 7.

Sir, that's more professors than the number of semesters in a regular law school education.

I have so many questions/concerns.

Federal Fair Housing Act, 42 USC §§ 3601-3631

"Neither the term 'individual with handicaps' nor the term 'handicap' shall apply to an individual solely because that individual is a transvestite."

Oh.
That's a bit dated.

"Under the mailbox rule, an acceptance that is properly addressed is effective upon dispatch even if it is never received"

Okay.

How do we verify that something that's never received was properly addressed?

I'm having A TIME with Contracts. 😂

www.abajournal.com/news/article...

Meanwhile, I'm literally sitting in Contracts right now listening to my professor go on about how AI is currently functioning at the level of a 7th year associate.

Fantastic.
5th Circuit tells lawyers to verify citations—and cites wrong rule in doing so
In an age of artificial intelligence hallucinations popping up in court filings, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals at New Orleans has warned lawyers to veri

Reading for Property: Party A is from X.

My Brain on Civ Pro Jurisdiction: WHERE ARE THE OTHERS FROM AND HOW LONG ARE THEIR ARMS?

🙃😑😞

Property Professor: Who thinks this is a major encroachment? Who thinks it’s minor? Who thinks the Supreme Court of New Jersey can tell?

😂😂😂

Not to overreact, but I just finished the Contracts practice quiz we were given an hour to complete...in 10 minutes.

...and I got all of the questions correct.

Not gonna lie, I needed that vote of confidence. 🎉

Civ Pro prof II is really turning out to be an impressively solid follow-up to original Civ Pro prof.

Did I *want* to read 65 pages from SCOTUS today?
Not really.

Is it kind of brilliant to have us read a case where SCOTUS interprets International Shoe before we read it ourselves?
YES.

Reading for Contracts:

Fletcher died before trial and was only partially decomposed.

... 🤨...

DEPOSED.
NOT DECOMPOSED.

I tell my coworker about this.
I suggest I've done too much legal reading this shift.

Coworker: WAS IT MITCH MCCONNELL?!

...I couldn't do law school without these kids... 🤣
September 19, 2026 at 10:08 AM
Judge: You were no contact and now there’s another baby so obviously there was contact…

This is the “think like a lawyer” level of deductive reasoning we all aim for 🤣 🙌🏻

New kids talking about Civ Pro prof while we waiting for Property class

For some reason they were convinced he went to law school at Columbia

Another girl comes in; she says "I thought he went to Georgetown."

One of them was like "maybe for undergrad"

Y'all, I kept my mouth shut THE WHOLE TIME

From the Jurisdiction reading:

"...the Court has never held that a district court can
create jurisdiction through its own mistakes."

I love Civil Procedure, y'all. 🤣🙌♥️

From the Property reading...

"Although we do not mean to engage in the defense of those principles which Europeans have applied to Indian title, they may, we think, find some excuse, if not justification, in the character and habits of the people whose rights have been wrested from them"

Just attended a session on how to apply for the Bar exam.

The representative from the Bar Admissions office of the State Supreme Court told a story about how someone who took the July Bar is under investigation for 'continuing to bubble' after time was called.

*** Defense counsel saying words requesting special treatment for the defendant ***

Judge to Prosecutor w/a tight smile: ... Miss Molfino?

Prosecutor, wanting no part: Oh, you're the big boss!

...Miss Molfino vindicating my soft spot for prosecutors. 😂

Watching Judge Boyd tell the defendant in front of her that most people, including the attorneys in the court room, the court reporter, bailiffs, etc. have had a utility cut off at one point or another

I get what she's trying to do, but one of us is deeply out of touch because that seems WILD to me

Marked off for my 10:30pm shift at 6:30am.

The cold my coworker gave me is taking me out.
Meds seem to help with everything but the headache.
I'm miserable.

Judge trying to get sovereign citizen to identify himself…

“Who do you think I think you are? What do they put on the documents you disagree with?”

🙌🏻 🤣

Defendant out on bond for an aggravated assault charge

He's back being charged with capital murder against the same victim

Bond was set at $10 million

Defense counsel: I think the original bond was an emotional reaction; $50,000 and GPS seems more appropriate

Judge: We will not be doing that

🙌👏

*Judge sentencing defendant to 5 years in prison*

"I'd like to speak to a detective."

...literal wildest attempt to ask for a manager that I've ever heard.

"I've got 5 more years I can add."

Actual Queen behavior.
We love to see it.

I'm so uncomfortable with what I'm hearing regarding the Lindsay Clancy jury.

First fellow jurors identify and try to have removed a single hold out. Now the judge is going to question this individual.

...that's not how juries are supposed to work?

Madness.

Coworker came in clutch so that I could make it to class…

It was of fundamental importance that I be present to literally gasp out loud when Contracts prof mentioned 12(b)(6)… ❤️😭💔😂

Property class provides us with an article on the topic of creating markets for organ donation/transplantation.

Author brushes aside one of the most significant concerns in this area -- coercion of the poor.

"The poor have organs that are probably damaged by drugs and disease, anyway."

WILD.
