I reject the premise and methodology of the new Chronicle article on middle
Managers. They separate academic support - including libraries and advising - from core institutional functions. If you do not think academic support is a core institutional function, I will not engage with you.

What an article by @mkirschenbaum.bsky.social! When are we hanging out, Matthew???
For @projectsyndicate.bsky.social, I wrote about why text—as a category of production—is no longer for us. Also, there’s a Ghostbusters reference. (This *should* be a gift link but you may need to manually verify your humanity, thus proving the point.) www.project-syndicate.org/magazine/tex...

It was an MLM convention. Anyone whose Dad ever sold Amway knows what this was. The downlines have tapped out their networks and are dropping off, garages full of product they can’t move and broken homes waiting for them when they get back.
Phang: I’m here in Dallas, Texas, at the Republican National Convention’s midterm convention. I can tell you it’s an incredibly underwhelming energy here. Many of you may have been to conventions in other cities. There is a dynamic, almost frenetic energy surrounding a convention. Here? Womp womp
