You do not need our components to use unmap. GET /styles/base.json returns a plain MapLibre style document: version 8, 76 layers, with its own glyphs and sprites. Point any MapLibre GL map at it. #MapLibre

Wîhkwêntôwin, Edmonton: 97th percentile for accessibility, 1st for property value. Low there is the affordable end, and it is assessed value, not sold prices.

unmap routes on Valhalla over a graph that covers Canada and nothing else. Calgary to Halifax comes back as 4,867,062 m. Calgary to Seattle is a 422, and so is Calgary to Iqaluit, which has no road link. #GIS unmap.dev?utm_source=b...

Mount Pleasant scores 37/100 on safety in Vancouver, the 14th percentile. Underneath: police access 67, traffic 59, lighting 58, low crime 13, quiet 0. Read the part you care about. www.pickyourplace.app/vancouver/mo...

A query in unmap matches every name a place carries. ᐃᖃᓗᐃᑦ and Iqaluit return the same record, carrying en, fr and iu on the feature itself. Coverage is a sourcing gap rather than an engine one. #MapLibre #GIS unmap.dev?utm_source=b...

Toronto's accessibility median is 47. Calgary's is 44. Inside Toronto that lens runs from 6 in West Rouge to 95 downtown. The neighbourhood decides the commute, not the city. From the tool I build: www.pickyourplace.app/toronto?utm_...

A map, a place search and a route are three calls in unmap: useUnmap, useGeocoder and useDirections. They are hooks in React and composables in Vue, and the Nuxt module auto-imports them for you. unmap.dev/docs/overvie...

Mount Pleasant, Vancouver scores 69/100 on climate resilience, city median 68. Beltline, Calgary scores 76, city median 79. The weakest hazard differs: earthquake in one, severe weather in the other. Moving changes which hazard you carry, not whether you do.

A safety score of 56/100 sounds middling. In Calgary it is the 70th percentile: the city median is 48. Altadore's traffic input scores 99 against a median of 54.

A basemap you cannot restyle is one you will fight later. unmap serves its styles in light and dark, and switching between them is one prop on the map. #MapLibre #GIS unmap.dev?utm_source=b...

A PickYourPlace percentile is a rank inside one city and nothing more. It does not transfer between cities, and a high rank in a city with a real problem is still a real problem.

For anyone who asks what is under a maps API before trusting it: unmap is one Hono Worker on Cloudflare as the front door, tiles from R2, geocoding on ParadeDB and PostGIS, routing on Valhalla.

Rural title: NE 14-032-21 W4M. No GPS, no street address — just a DLS grid reference.

Right to left: W4M meridian, Range 21, Township 32, Section 14, NE quarter. 160 acres near Hanna, AB.

Most O&G well datasets are stored by UWI. Every GIS and routing app needs GPS.

The bridge: strip the prefix and suffix from 100/06-32-048-07W5/00. The middle segment — 06-32-048-07W5 — is the LSD. Convert that.

AER CCS tenure applications require DLS notation — not shapefiles. One injection zone at Fort Saskatchewan can mean 14+ quarter sections that each need a verified legal land description before June 30.

You're reviewing an Ontario rural title: Lot 12, Concession 4, Brock Township. No GPS. No section. No meridian.

Ontario's lot-and-concession system dates to the 1780s — predates the western DLS by nearly a century.

aliquot parts read right to left. NW¼SE¼ of Sec 22 = the NW quarter of the SE quarter — 40 acres, not 160.

one reading direction rule, and the acreage is off by 4x if you miss it.

Not every quarter section is 160 acres.

Correction sections in columns 1 and 7 of each DLS township run 60–100 acres — the grid accounts for earth's curvature.

Relevant if you're filing SCIC or buying SK farmland this spring.

One survey grid. Established 1871. Still how every well license, farm lease, and pipeline route in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and BC Peace River gets located.

NE-25-24-1-W5 = 160 acres in central Alberta.
