My #BirdOfTheDay theme #BestOfTheMonth is a pretty Cassin Kingbird at #sanfranciso #fortmason . Don't think we'll see any others for a while. I was one of the few to see it. Living up to being a flycatcher as it snagged lunch & hung around for 15 mins letting me take shots. #birds #nature #wildlife

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme, #GreyDay Here's a cute little olive green/ grey #rubykinglet. Another bird in same tree, so hopefully that's who got its angry mohawk up and not me or my camera. #birds #sanfrancisco #fortmason

Started birding 1 year ago as of late Jan this year. Had 149 birds for a month or so. But finally saw my first Common Merganser, my 150th bird seen/head. Mostly seen, still learning vocals. Who doesn't love a redhead? Seen at #sanfrancisco #crissyfield #presidio #birds #seabirds #naturephotography

Great #egret flying over #sanfrancisco #FortMason last week. Cloudy day. Often, cloudy days are difficult for cameras. But sometimes when it's a white bird or white sky or dark bird on dark sky, it really works out. #birds #nature #photography #birding

Today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #groups . And wouldn't you know, I just processed my photos from yesterday of a #pintail male and female, a #bufflehead and a green wing teal. The little green wing hung around the other birds all day. #sanfrancisco #photography #crissyfield #nature #birds #ducks

See gull on left, smiling. A minute after photo taken, it jacked his friend's fish. The loser chased it for a few, then took off, prob to grab more. Not the same as my last photo: 2 gulls chasing each other for food. Gulls are sneaky eaters. #birdoftheday #gulls #photography #birds #sanfrancisco

Bird of the day #gulls. Photo #1.
Check out the two gulls at top of frame, one to the left, one to the right . At one end - a gull flying off with food. On the left, another gull chasing it. The guy and his kid below oblivious to the battle above.

My #birdoftheday with #lookingaway theme is a song sparrow making a break for it in #sanfrancisco. Early this year. How rude.

Today's #BirdOfTheDay is #Movement. Here's a curlew coming in for landing...or is it take off?

One more #songbird for #birdoftheday . He's not singing in the photo, but knowing how they like to sing, I bet this robin is about to hit his playlist. #birds

As a birding newbie, there's a lot of birds I have less photos of but here's a northern house #wren that kept showing up in my Merlin app before I finally saw it w my eyes.
Today's #bird of the day theme is least - the bird you’ve got the least captures of. #sanfrancisco #birding #wildlife #nature

Fall #bird migration over. So, sharing shots of last western #tanagers. Think there's 1 or 2 that hang in garden @ #fortmason #sanfrancisco all year, locals now. The rest, I guess I'll see next year when they return. Hmm, wonder which new #birds I'll see this winter...? #birding #nature #wildlife

Caught these wild red masked #parrots or #parakeets flying through #fortmason early October in #sanfrancisco. Notice, a few are without red mask on face. They're juveniles and won't get full coloring for another year or so apparently. Wild parrots fly all over city. #birds #birders

Here's a couple of white #pelicans flying over #fortmason in #sanfrancisco. The white #pelican is rare here but get them sometimes . They usually don't fly over this park since coast is nearby. But it was cloudy so they flew different path to get to shoreline. Lucky day. #birds #SuperSeabirdSunday

Went to see #FleetWeekSF in #sanfrancisco. Miss the #usnavy, #blueangels etc. But Canadian Forces Snowbirds, Patriots Jet Team, Ace Maker, Randy Howell & Cory Lovell, Jack Aces and United Airlines were great. Thanks! #CFSnowbirds #sfbayarea
