Haven't received an update from this person; no issues visible on our end in the reported time frame. Still, I will long cherish this sad formulation: "It simply does not work. Unfortunately I'm a classical philology undergraduate. Therefore your website is essential for my university education."

For #EpigraphyTuesday, a slab from #Caere honoring Diva Drusilla. Caligula's name was erased in 41 CE. The damnatio memoriæ gap looks oddly narrow, an optical illusion of the flat basin. Look closely to spot the surviving epigraphic "ghosts" of a G and an S! #AncientBluesky 🏺

This week on the The Trench Wire, we posted a fascinating article by Brother Nicolas, one of Trench Crusade's lore consultants and latin translators, on what it's like to write for a grimdark setting as a member of the clergy. Be sure to give it a read!

We're happy to welcome back Kaatayra. The new album absolutely does not disappoint. Listen to the perfect mix between folk, prog, avant-garde, acoustic and black metal and no doubt one of the best albums of the year!

More and more I see people say "it's ONLY used for translation" when it comes to genAI in games. As if the act of writing into another language is not worth respecting. As if people in other countries (both gamers and workers) don't matter at all.
Translation IS writing. Translation IS art.

Black Metal Trip Hop is not a genre fusion you'd expect to work but Foghazer's He Left the Temple manages to pull it off not just in a way that's genuinely great, but while also sounding like an actual fusion instead of one or the other with a gimmick.

Aside from the good they can and do perform, boycotting things you want is crucially important for the simple fact that you have to be able to allow yourself to be materially impacted by your values or they’re fucking worthless. They’re smoke and mirrors. They’re NOTHING.
