It’s been five years since Alex Jones lost InfoWars to the Sandy Hook families.

As the verdict came down, he asked: “Do these people actually believe they’re getting any money?” He hasn't paid them a penny.

Well, The Onion is going pay them anyway.

The new InfoWars begins July 2nd at 8 p.m. ET.
The Onion says it won’t wait for the courts, will launch Infowars to pay Sandy Hook families
The Onion’s staff is tired of waiting for the courts to settle its pending takeover of Alex Jones’ brand, so the new Infowars will launch next month.

They want to gut the Department of Education and call it "local control." What's actually on the chopping block: civil rights enforcement in schools, special-ed oversight, and Title I dollars for poor kids. That's not freedom. It's abandonment, aimed at the children with the least.

This answer alone should destroy this administration. This conversation is essentially:

“people are hurting.”

“ceos are fine.”
BREAM: The Journal says percentage of delinquent credit card balances is 13%, the highest in 15 years. People are using them for necessities. Your message to them?

HASSETT: We talk to CEOs of the credit card companies all the time, and there's not any threat to them. People are taking a bit longer.

1) Someone really needs to push back on this idea of 1st Amendment zones. I haven't taught polisci 101 in 20 years, but last time I checked the entire US was a 1st Amendment zone. 2) What's the point of having 1st Amendment zones if you're just going to have police rampage through them?

School boards in Texas that have been at the center of book ban and trans rights debates held elections today.

And in early results out of local elections, I'm seeing at least 5 conservative school board members who are trailing.

Let's see where these end up!

An important fact to bear in mind for *both* of tonight's specials: Registered Republicans outnumbered Democrats.

#HD87: 46% R, 36% D, 18% independent

#SD14: 46% R, 37% D, 17% independent

This almost certainly means some Republicans are voting Dem—very worrying for the GOP.

If the US invested in child care and had national policies like paid leave comparable to other industrialized countries, we would generate $775 billion of economic activity a year. The question should not be, “how can we afford to do this?” The question is, “how can we afford not to?” Let’s do this.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
