The next camera I'm testing is the Konica C 35 MF. It's an automatic-loading, autofocus camera with motor and flash. I'm using Orwo NC 500 film this time. If the test is successful, the camera will be for sale. The best camera is the one you have with you.

A long-standing good friend of mine has suddenly passed away. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to take a photo of him.

I came across two colour films amongst the belongings of my aunt, who passed away in 2018. I hesitated for a long time before having them developed. A few days ago, I finally got round to it. I’ve got some scans. Unfortunately, the image quality isn’t very good. I can now put this behind me.

To make sure things didn’t get too boring, I went to an advanced enduro training session today. I’m knackered.

It’s been a very long time since I last used this camera. There’s one thing I’ve already noticed. It’s easy to use, but the shutter sound is very loud. I didn’t remember that at all. So no discreet shots with this.
Next, I’m going to test my Fuji Multi Program AX, which my dad gave me for my 16th birthday. The films I exposed with it are all still here. The Fuji had also been sitting on the shelf for a long time; yesterday it had a quick CLA and a new battery fitted. I’m using an Agfacolor 400 with it.

A retro digital camera with eight pre-set filters is on offer at Aldi. But why no film? Each film gives a different look. It could be so simple. Film is still available at almost every drugstore.

I’ve now used up the Fujicolor 200 from the Olympus Trip. Lab time.

Just stumbled upon a Linhof 220 medium format camera. Never saw this camera before, even didn't know Linhof built handheld medium format cameras at that time. What a cool concept this is. Offers are between 700-1500 € in near mint. This is from 1974. Remarkable

When I was 9 years old (1984), my father bought a Commodore C64 for his office to store addresses and print form letters. He even had software written specifically for that purpose. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked on those things. There was no Internet back then.
What was your first computer growing up?

My trusty companion for the next few days. My Olympus Trip loaded with expired Fujicolor 200. #filmphotography

Old meets new.
Another one from that roll.
If you don’t want haze on your negatives, use fresh film (haha)
Kodak Tri-X 320 (120) in Rodinal.
The 55mm on the C330 is stunning.

On expired Kodak Tri-X
dev in Rodinal #filmphotography
Tri-X is a thin PE(?) film that keeps wanting to roll up on itself. Threading it onto the spool was quite a bit of fun.

Just outside Warboys is the “Spooky Bridge” there are some YouTube “paranormal” videos about it.

All nonsense of course but I had my Pentax 17 loaded with HP5 and made a print .

Parts of an old petrol station and a scene in a meadow behind our house. Both taken on Harman Phoenix film. I prefer the meadow scene. I don’t think I’ll ever be a fan of this film. Shadows get washed out and the resolution could be finer. But the film was a gift and an interesting experience.

I miss the days when we used to meet up with other film photographers to show them our city. Often people from faraway countries, lots of good conversations. #filmphotography

Addendum:
Kodacolor 100 and Kodacolor 200 are new colour negative films from Eastman Kodak (35mm, 36 exposures, C-41). They feature the classic Eastman Kodak branding rather than Kodak Alaris.
The film is fine-grained, has moderate colour saturation and natural colour reproduction, softer than Ektar 100.

How brilliant is this website by Canadian analogue photographers? It has an ‘expired film calculator’ – which is exactly what I’d been looking for – and other useful tools. I’m in love with it.
