enjoying, but for a smaller book it seems to be taking longer to get through. you know how some books are just done so much faster? i don’t think this was a savoring…idk. maybe not enjoying as much as I thought … will definitely finish, just not sure when

Gut punched. A mix a bit Bukowski’s Post Office and Somerset Maugham’s Razors Edge, with maybe some of the tragedy of Annie Proulx’s Brokeback Mountain. It’ll be a re-read in a year or so to see how the writer did it.

Oh no! 2 more books have piled onto my TBR. Turns out @scalzi.com is coming to Louisville in November and need to read a bit more of his work, and I get credits rolled into my @pangobooks.bsky.social account, so free Larry Niven Lucifer's Hammer in the mail. All in all it's a Read Faster alert!

turns out I can get deals on fountain pen inks through Amazon Haul ... seriously people, trying to give less money to them. A comforting fact however is that I believe MacKenzie Scott is still a stock holder, so I guess I can see it as supporting her.

2 games this morning at chess.com 1st lost in my mating attack to time as it was dog breakfast and they did not care if I could win, they would raise hell in a sleeping house for their kibble. 2nd found redemption in a mid-game mate with a “wait, what is that I see?” move

My 11yo daughter borrowed a USB Micro cable, stating "On the River Styx I promise to return this!"
So, I haven't gotten it back yet, but because of that, now currently listening to Styx Paradise Theatre ... so good.
