A lot of people—I’d say almost all adults—are not told “I’m proud of you” often enough. Culturally it seems we reserve that praise for mentees or kids.

Be that person! Say it to your spouse. Your siblings. Your friends. Even your parents and folks you look up to!

THE FACT THAT YOU ARE DIGGING AROUND ON THIS DISK AND THINKING ABOUT HOW TO DECODE IT IS PROOF THAT THE GAME IS FUN ENOUGH TO TRY TO STEAL IT AND GIVE IT TO YOUR FRIENDS.

Final two cents on the PMG x Kotick story:

It is paramount that you support the journalism you want to see in the world.

Outlets like PMG continue to raise the bar, BUT if you want even more of that probing journalism you have to give reporters the runway and financial backing to produce it.

in a week that saw microsoft give activision the reins to halo and bungie pivot back to destiny, one thing has become abundantly clear: the people in charge do not have a long-term, overriding plan. they’re just reacting. the result, when times are bad, is chaos

Unused graphic found in the files of Mario Superstar Baseball, possibly used as a placeholder for the title screen. It features crude sketches of Mario and Luigi seemingly made in MS Paint and the text "ルイージの兄野球", which translates to "Luigi's Older Brother Baseball".

Even if it's getting better, that's an issue still coming back and forth with Godot in engine and issue discussions

With bigger commercial productions released and incoming, actual users are bringing their workflows and pain points, leading to engine improvements (as long as they're listened to)
A new article from me:
I've been around for decades of discourse about the GIMP, and it's high time to retire this conversation forever. I'll contribute my last word on it:

Il faut plus d'interviews dans ce format. Beaucoup plus.
Rencontre au sommet : on a reçu Antoine Rey et Sofiane Saheb, respectivement game designer sur #Cairn et lead designer sur #Jusant.

There are certain segments of games that sre pretty stagnant or bad, though. The people who say this and genuinely believe it are probably in a bubble that only includes one or those segments.

As a medium we have a discoverability and literacy problem.
Every time I see someone declaring that games are just Bad Now and have been since like 2010... I really think they might be in a parallel dimension or something. Either that, or it's just the depression talking.

It's not uncommon for a dozen great games to launch in ONE DAY right now.
