Russia is the only country to have shot down a civilian airliner in this war. In 2014, a Russian missile downed Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board, including 80 children.

Mere days after banning the only remaining political party opposed to its illegal invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin decided to lecture Moldova on the topic of democracy.

Calling North Korea "unthreatening and respectful" when they send missiles, shells, and troops to kill Ukrainians is a special kind of lunacy.

Imagine a European 348-satellite network in space.
This is happening.

We concluded negotiations to move the IRIS² satellite constellation into full-scale deployment.

By 2029, it will provide secure, sovereign connectivity for emergency services and defence in the EU ↓

Throughout its illegal invasion, Russia has damaged or destroyed 155 churches, 281 historical buildings, 43 museums, 22 libraries, and countless residential buildings, schools, and hospitals. Russia once again stays true to its practice of accusing others of what it does itself.

One of the Kremlin’s favourite energy narratives is remarkably resilient:

‘Europe is freezing’.
‘Europe is collapsing’.
‘Europe will soon beg for Russian gas’.

The deadline changes far more than the narrative , all while gas restrictions are introduced not in Europe, but in Russia.

Russian state-owned outlets portray Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil infrastructure as a sign of “weakness’ and an ‘imaginary achievement.’ Yet the fuel queues suggest the only thing imaginary is the availability of refined petroleum products across Russia.

Technically right if you look at it from Mishustin's narrow perspective: sanctions haven’t completely stopped RU from using energy export revenues to fund the war. The truth is far more complex. The RU economy is red hot, inflation is biting, and people there are living on ever tighter budgets.
‼️ Russia: “Mishustin said that sanctions against the Russian fuel and energy sector have not achieved their goals”

I disagree 😇

"There are still people who want to go back to the times of Napoleon, forgetting how it ended," Putin said, referring to yesterday's televised statements by President Macron.

Forgetfulness can be deadly, indeed. Moscow was burned to the ground in that war.

I fail to see why the US should take THE primary role in seeking a deal when they've all but telegraphed their intention to withdraw assistance to Ukraine. Europe should be leading on all fronts.

He doesn’t care about Ukrainians or securing a just, lasting peace. His actions make perfect sense when you see the bigger picture: he's chasing a Nobel Peace Prize. Trump is a lunatic who thinks he can trade the future of millions of Ukrainians for an award by pushing a rushed peace settlement.
"Zelensky wants to fight, fight, fight. We want to end the war. They ask me: Why do you care about Ukrainian and Russian soldiers? I care about all of them. If we don't do anything he (Zelensky) will have to make peace, its very simple."

You want Ukraine to bend the knee, rat.

Anti-Trump sentiment only exists among Democrats and, to a lesser extent, Independents. Republicans enthusiastically approve of Trump's performance so far, in what couldn't be a starker indication of the political chasm in America separating the two parties.

Russia has the sort of "elections" that Mangolini wishes to have in the US.
“At least Russia has elections”

Russia frequently jails and kills any opposition to Putin, who has been in power since 1999.

If you like dictatorships, that’s fine. Just admit that. Don’t insult anyone’s intelligence—including your own—by claiming Russia has real elections.

The shifting sands of Russian policy are hard to ignore. From recognizing Ukraine's sovereignty to invading the country to 'denazify' its Jewish President, all within a generation's time.
😮 Putin in 2002: "Ukraine is a sovereign state and has the right to choose the path to ensure its own security. I think it is quite possible that Ukraine will join NATO.

🥴 Putin in 2022: starting a full-scale war against Ukraine "because it is striving to join NATO."
