If you were wondering why all the sudden the AI Tech billionaires were calling for government regulation. This is why. They're scared to death that existing laws can be used to hold them responsible for their lack of control of their own AI.
Ex-FTC boss Khan urges Uncle Sam to break out the handcuffs for AI CEOs, citing 1934 precedent
There are plenty of laws on the books to hold companies, and potentially their execs, accountable

Anyone else using a Barnes & Noble nook? Stopped being able to log into their website when it stopped recognizing existing accounts (sent them a video of the failure, they were going to look into it) until today was able to browse & purchase from nook.

In a Waymo no one can hear you scream
Yet another (136+) Wrong Way Waymo (on the right), in a robot-off w another Waymo (on the left):

Recently, there's been quite a pattern of Waymo robots driving off laterally by a lane or so for no apparent reason. Seems to happen in turns and/or intersections.

Question for anyone with a BMW playing the Spider Man as on start up - what happens if you’re on a phone call when you get in and start up the car? Does it play the ad and not transfer the call to the car’s speaker & mic?

Alternatively, wipe your phone before landing and restore it after clearing the airport, border, etc.

Microsoft:

$101 BILLION in profits.
$12.5 BILLION in tax breaks.
$176 BILLION in stock buybacks.

4,800 workers fired this week.
9,000 workers fired last year.

Please don't tell me trickle-down economics works.

It never did. Nothing trickles down.

Paris department store with sign on door “Tirez/Pull” - slight problem being a lack of door handles, only option is to push them open.

Suspect their may be a regulation requiring one side of a door to be labeled push and the other pull, and there’s a push sign on the inside.
