This is a mistake, in a time when the young feel distanced from politics, their voices often ignored it is even more important that we find projects where they can feel invested. Clearly from your comments it needs to be better promoted not defunded.
Scrapping the UK Youth Parliament would be an absurd decision.

But the Department for Culture, Media and Sport - under Lisa Nandy's leadership and PM Burnham - is not committing to supplying funding for it any more.

That amounts to just £453,000 in the last year.

Some say scrapping the parliament for 11 to 18-year-olds would be a blow for democracy, while others say it is overdue.

Staying there would help...

NEW: A Vatican theological commission has defined the destruction of nature as a sin against God in a text approved by Pope Leo XIV.

It comes the same month MAGA commentators lambasted the U.S.-born pontiff for asking Catholics to pray for the 2.1 billion people without safe drinking water

Pope Leo XIV approved the 29,000-word document in July. Its release came 24 hours after MAGA commentators mocked Pope Leo XIV for praying that 2.1 billion people get safe water.

If you think closing an RNLI station is done by people with "legitimate concerns" you really need to give your head a wobble.
It's an unforgivable act of thuggery.

The right wing media barely reported it. Was it because it’s good news or because they are complicit.
"Five hundred new officers to be recruited in a £500 million crackdown on money laundering, as part of the government's Anti-Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Strategy."

Haven't seen much coverage of this. Long overdue.

Farage & racist protesters will not win!

RNLI does not care about skin colour, where you’re from, if you’re in trouble @ sea, they will save you!

Fact, RNLI save on avg 122 British ppl every day, compared to 6/7 migrants in small boats.

Farage is a disgrace to society!

Reform-linked thinktank ‘to call for big tax cuts for the rich’; accompanied by deregulation of the City, weaken the authority of the courts.

That would be the return on donations by the super-rich.

Cost borne by the old, sick, disabled, unfortunate; cuts to public services.
