Out of curiosity, have they calculated how much it costs the state to subsidise car drivering? All the roads, parking where interesting stuff could be, free parking, traffic enforcement, health problems caused by cars, etc. What is that costing?

I hate to tell you, but humans are closer to extinction than ever*

*in the sense that humans will at some point in the future be extinct, and every second brings us closer to that moment. Nothing to do with AI, just the relentless march of time.

Well, I guess among Trump's accomplishments, we can list "Made Canada attempt to move to Europe".

I spend way too much time telling my various devices *not* to do stuff. Don't sync, don't connect, don't suggest, just sit there until I want to do something. I'll let you know.

"A car ran the light at the crossing right in front of me. I'm not against cars, but the automobile community has to deal with these irresponsible drivers." No one writes posts like this. It's only ever about cyclists, or scooter users.
What is this "irresponsible cycling community" and who issues the membership cards? Is there a community of irresponsible drivers?

No one is disputing that it's annoying and sometimes dangerous for a cyclist to ride on a sidewalk. What people are taking issue with is collective blame.
Can't keep up with the irresponsible cycling community I've provoked but just to note, one of the cyclists that nearly ran into me did run into the bloke walking behind, thankfully not full on. So take some responsibility.

In addition to everything else, Halton came up with the absolute worst way to cut cake. I just want to add this to his crimes: oldschoolpastry.pastrysampler.com/cutting-a-ca...

This might be long shot, but has The Muppets Studio tried explaining the premise to Disney execs with puppets?
There are currently no active conversations for a full ‘MUPPET SHOW’ series revival.

Disney, The Muppets Studio and Point Grey Pictures have had difficulties with deciding on a premise for the series that they can all agree on.

And yet, I would still rank Michael O'Leary as one of the less harmful rich people in the world. At least he's not trying to wreck whole countries. Just arguing that he did you a favour letting you almost fall out of one of his planes.
This airline rules so hard

If you must copy bad guy uniforms, this one is so much cooler. Farscape had the best battle dresses.

Does Oz sell a supplement that removes any sense of self awareness? Because it seems to be shockingly effective.

I get up between 5 and 6 every morning because that's when the kids wake up. And I can only work part-time because we can't get childcare for our youngest. Do I "deserve" help?

Man, someone had a tight deadline and weekend plans.
I picked up a copy of the collected letters of JRR Tolkien for reasons, and this is the most bullshit table of contents I've ever seen. I'm actively angry that it exists

I think this thing is 10 years old. Do you think I should still remove and discard this sticker? What if there's something important under there?

Tim Curry in Muppet Treasure Island is honestly more Muppet than man, it's an amazing performance by a man who didn't mind looking silly.
I think another lesson to take from the loss of both Dolly and Tim Curry is that neither of them took themselves seriously but they took the work dead serious

that's the most important thing
pour all of yourself into the craft but have fun and don't get an ego.
