RIP Bob Mackie who came up with the curtain gown for Carol Burnett in Went With the Wind, one of the funniest goddamned things to ever be broadcast on TV. Y’all do not understand how much you missed by not being able to see some of the funniest people of all time cracking each other up on the regs.

btw Kanye did a song Heil Hitler and no one stepped in to oppose his tour(s), which is ongoing. In fact, Kanye is scheduled to perform at one of the stadiums Macklemore has been stopped from being at.
Rapper Macklemore has been dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour after he made a “Free Palestine” speech on stage earlier this month

I don’t want to post about 9-11 as it fucking sucked and marked a point of inflection we have yet to reckon with and move away from but I will say that @theonion.com provided a way to laugh through it and still does today and I can’t think of an outlet more deserving of support.

Here's an anecdote: On 9/10/2001, The Onion staff had a New York launch party at the Bowery Ballroom to celebrate the staff's move from Madison, Wisconsin to New York City.

They woke up hungover, took a week off, and then produced one of the greatest front pages in the history of newspapers.
Hey everybody. On the 25-year anniversary, we're reprinting the much revered 9/11 edition of The Onion and sending that free to every member this month.

It's been 25 long years. Look back in anger.

Not entirely sure about all the red, white and blue cupcakes for Labor Day as there are a lot of things I can say about this country but “historically sensitive to the needs of organized labor” ain’t one of ‘em.
