Based on extensive fieldwork, checking pronuniations and the topographical features the terms are connected to, he showed that there are many toponyms

aɣlif n uselmed unnig d unadi ussnan

Contrast the Moroccan form:

tamawast n usslmd anaflla d urzzu amassan

Why so different?

In de Antwerpse jongerentaal wordt ui hetzelfde uitgesproken als ij / ei, namelijk als [æː] ~ [æ̞ː].

Apparently, Germaine Tillion wrote a note in Chaoui describing the person who had betrayed her Resistance cell to the Nazis and disguised it as part of her field notes.

In sommige gevallen kan de lengte van lange klinkers in het Marokkaans-Antwerps-Nederlands verkorten, zodat het enige verschil met korte klinkers de kwaliteit is.

Voorbeeldzin:
gaat dees naar Bist? - [ɣɑd de̞z nɑr bistˢ] "stopt deze (bus) bij Bist?"

Dit gebeurt vooral bij het snel praten.

Tarifit word of the day:

Sidi-Rebbi [sɪ.ðɛʌb.bɪ] - "God, the Lord"

From Moroccan Arabic سيدي ربي (sidi ṛəbbi, lit. "Sir Lord"), but it is way more commonly used in Tarifit to the point I consider it the default word for God.

In Tarifit, early borrowings from Arabic replace the glottal stop with ɛ /ʕ/:

řqurɛan - "Quran"
incaɛellah - "God willing"
macaɛellah - "masha'Allah"

4 months after: apparently there is the Japanese word 甘いamai which can mean "lacking saltiness".
One Tarifit word I use constantly with no English or Dutch equivalent is amessas "insufficiently salted". Any parallels of a word with this meaning in other languages?

In Hollands-Marokkaans-Nederlands is het bekend dat s voor l en n vaak [ʃ] wordt. In Antwerpen niet, daar gebeurt het voor ch en k.

Voorbeelden:
school → [ʃxoːɫ]
scheef → [ʃçe̞ːf]

Dit is waarschijnlijk verwant aan de palatalisatie van t voor ch / g:
Wie bent gij? - [β̞i̞ː be̞nt͡ʃ‿çæː]

When I started fieldwork, several first-language speakers of Korandje told me they were glad their kids couldn't speak it. Teachers had told them raising their kids in (dialectal) Arabic was the key to letting them succeed in school, and they believed the results bore this out.
