Having translator boots on the ground still won't save a launch if the offer, payment habit or cultural reference is just plain wrong for that market. Run a cultural pass on the pitch, not just the strings.

If you're briefing Google AI Max ads in French, German, Japanese or the other new languages, read the generated assets and the reported landing URL against your live local page. Fluent briefs still sometimes mess up formality and product names.

If you’re translating an app, you gotta treat the store listing as its own job.
Screenshots, keywords, and What’s New copy all decide the install before anyone even opens the product!

Don't hard code UI strings. They have a way of turning every new language you add into a codebase scavenger hunt.
It's better to pull them into resource files so translation work stays translation work.

For a multilanguage course, the script is only part of the job.
Quizzes, media, and the LMS buttons all have to work too, or learners will get stuck even when the wording looks fine.

If your app is localized but password resets and invoices still land in English, you betchya that customers notice.

Put those transactional emails in the same language workflow as the product, or the “localized” experience risks feeling unfinished.

When your product's homepage is localized but help and pricing are English-only, you risk people bouncing mid-journey.
Keep the language consistent throughout the customer journey.

If AI is drafting your localized copy, it's better to compile a shortlist of approved brand terms and past translations you liked.
That stops the next pass from drifting off-voice.

If you’re shopping around for a TMS, start from how your repo and releases already work.
A tool that fights your cadence can wind up costing more than the license.

Raw machine translation is fine for bulk, low-visibility stuff like alt-text.

But for brand, UX and anything a customer will feel, it's better to plan a human pass because the engine is never going to get your tone quite right.

Before you send work off to a new localization vendor, give them your style guide, glossary, sample files, feedback process, etc.
If you don't, the first delivery will amount to setup cost.

Word order is why “just translate the sentence” often falls apart.
English SVO turns into someone else’s puzzle.
Ship the full message with context so nobody has to reassemble it!

Do you know which locale is quietly torching your translation budget?

If you only see total characters, you can’t really tell. Ask your MT provider or check your TMS for usage by language pair. Then look at the two biggest pairs before you decide where quality spend is worth it.

Hard-coded UI strings are ok in a prototype (if you must).
In a real product though, every tiny wording change will turn into a ticket. It's better to pull text into resource files early on.

If you're starting OpenClaw for a one-person shop, don’t begin with a fleet of email jobs.
Spec a Mission Control first so your research and tasks all have a home base they can land.

If you’re on DeepL API across a bunch of locales, you finally get usage by language pair as CSV.

That's handy for example when EN→DE and EN→JA both burn a ton, but only German has a glossary and a human gate. The quasi ledger shows you the mismatch.

hreflang mistakes don't necessarily show up in staging or even your frontend.
Keep an eye on GSC to make sure pages are pointing to their correct language/region siblings.

Checkout is where ecomm localization can too easily bomb: currency, tax, payment methods, error strings, so much going on here.
Test a real purchase in each locale first before you call the market "live."

Unless they have their own machine and repos they can go yolo on, approval by task beats blanket agent autonomy.

Localization testing isn't polish, and it's certainly not optional. Not if you want to catch truncated buttons, broken placeholders, and locale formats before users do!

Agent autonomy has maintenance overhead. APIs change. Models change. Workflows drift. Edge cases appear. The approval rules you designed six months ago may stop matching the system you’re running today. This stuff costs $.

I’d be wary of any sizeable website localization quote produced before someone asks about the CMS, markets, content inventory, SEO, update frequency and existing language assets. There are too many variables hiding behind the word “website.”
