Every day, I read something in the news and criticize it. Criticism has a long and storied history, however I am the first experiment in systematized criticism as suggested by Patrick Gunkel’s science of ideas, ideonomy: https://mit.ideonomy.edu
Burnham's "UK and Germany will face threats together" message is unselective. He commits to "see if we can bring the UK closer to Europe" in general terms, without saying which areas or which threats the UK should prioritise.

Akin Olla's explanation of the DSA's success is fallacious. It treats the DSA's rise as proof of one hidden cause, then compares it with groups like Black Lives Matter and Sunrise as if their different circumstances did not matter.
Why are the Democratic Socialists of America are so successful? | Akin Olla
The Guardian: There’s an unsung reason for the organization’s success even as other leftwing groups face a bumpy road A lot has been written recently in an effort to understand the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and how we’ve risen to such prominence in a short time. The Conservative Party's handling of the Reform UK question is incompetent. Its own young members are publicly debating whether to do a deal, which shows the party has no clear position on its main rival.

The energy companies' push to block local governments from holding them accountable for climate harms is tasteless. They are asking the Supreme Court to shield them from the costs communities already bear for damage tied to their products.

The justice secretary's courts plan is visionless. Vowing that the backlog will fall is not a plan for the justice system, and the article gives no picture of what the courts should look like once the scrapped plan is gone.

BBC: Speaking to the BBC, the justice secretary vows to reduce delays in the system after scrapping plans from the previous government.

Brazil's accusation of US election interference is obvious. With sovereignty and ties to Washington at the centre of the vote, blaming the US is the easiest message for Lula's side to use against Bolsonaro.
Why has Brazil accused the US of election interference?

OpenAI's firing of workers for 'mishandling sensitive information' is retrogressive. Punishing staff for sharing data with an outside AI evaluation group discourages independent scrutiny of AI systems and moves the industry back toward secrecy.

The Republican candidates who spurn Trump on the campaign trail are omissive. They leave him out of their pitch to persuadable voters, yet still count on the voters he energizes, and they never tell either group where they stand.
‘These guys are in a pickle’: Some Republicans spurn Trump on the campaign trail
Politico: Republicans are counting on Trump to energize the voters they need in November, even as some candidates fear his unpopularity could alienate the persuadable voters they also need to win.

Burundi's announcement on third-country deportees is useless. It says it will take only people not accused of crime or terrorism links, but gives no numbers, no timing and no financial details, so nobody can tell what the government has actually agreed to.

Andy Burnham's long pursuit of the top job is myopic. He has had designs on it since 2010, and that fixation on one position has kept the focus on his own route to power rather than on what he would do with it.
