A woman-led social impact consulting firm with Washington roots and national reach. We pair policy expertise and lived experience to center women and girls impacted by the criminal legal system and transform the systems that harm them.
Criminal legal contact is a public health issue. Not a metaphor. Documented consequences rippling across individuals, families, and communities.

MSIS offers teach-ins for nonprofits, agencies, and advocates ready to examine it.

Research doesn't mean anything if it never reaches the people it's for.

I advised a Drexel team on the health effects of ending cash bail. Took findings to advocates, policymakers, and impacted people. Published in JAMA Network Open.

Nobody recruited me. I applied to Washington's council juvenile justice. Wrote the letter. Made the case.

Ferguson appointed me. November 2025

Lived experience isn't a liability. It's the expertise these rooms are missing.

Washington law requires police to call a free attorney for youth before questioning them. Free. 24/7. Most have never heard of it.

MSIS is building a Know Your Rights workshop around what the law guarantees.

Knowing your rights with law enforcement shouldn't depend on who you know or what you can afford. "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" is MSIS's plain-language workshop on your rights with police and ICE — and we can bring it to your community.

Five years since Blake. The law changed overnight. The systems meant to catch people? Still lagging.

That gap between policy and lived reality is where my work lives.

ICE detention costs far more than other forms of confinement and supervision.

And releasing people while they await their day in court costs $0 — a far better use of resources.
