Now this is a headpiece to wear with pride! A crown for the ages? It feels like many stories are hidden in its creation.

Photo of my fluffy white cat Francie meowing at the camera with her little pink, toothless mouth open looking like the cutest lil gremlin. The words art show are written in sloppy digital crayon above and below her face.

Eric Ravilious

Chalk Paths

British, 1903–1942

A hallmark Ravilious landscape built from precise line, pale chalk‑down palette, & the lithographic clarity that defines his interwar modernism. This sits between English Neo‑Romanticism & modernist design.

A photo of an open, portrait-format sketchbook with black paper, placed on a wooden desk and surrounded by a paint brush, a paint tube, coloured pencils, a snippet of a painting, crystals, branches, and leaves. The sketchbook page features paintings of plants resembling Dicentra spectabilis, sporting pink, heart-shaped flowers, with the inner white petals glowing. Text reads: “Dicentra incandens”, and just below: “Radiant Hearts”.

Hi again #PortfolioDay :) I'm a sculptor in Scotland working mostly with paper mache. I make adorable mysterious gremlin figures and all sorts of otherworldly little critters!
Three paper mache gremlins with black glass eyes and huge ears, standing in a row on a white surface in front of ceramic jars and decorative dried oats. They wear cloaks painted with bright acrylic inks: one is orange and red, one green and teal, and one purple and pink. A paper mache tortoise on an off-white surface next to dried heather twigs. The shell of this tortoise is purple and pink, and the body is a mix of greens. A paper mache elephant sculpture with butterfly wings for ears and antennae made from metal wire. It is bright lime green and yellow in colour, with red and purple accents, and is standing next to a jar with dried plants and small patches of moss green dyed lichen. A paper mache gremlin sitting in a boat shaped like a crescent moon. It is painted in a speckled mix of ochre, white, turquoise, and lavender, and photographed next to decorative dried oats.

In the dark while the rain fell
The gold chanterelles pushed through a sleep
that was not mine
Waking me
So that I came up the mountain to find them

Gorgeous art by Jane Crowther (we have these as greeting cards, should there be someone you think would appreciate it).

A red fox sits in a field watching their two kits playing. A group of autumnal trees, one with red leaves, stand behind them, and shrubs to the left and right. The sun shines above, and a group of birds fly over the trees. Overall colours are tan, brown and orange. A black cat sits looking up at an orange and red butterfly fluttering a short distance above their head. The cat is surrounded by tall flower stems, with a carpet of flowers in front of them. A pale sun shines overhead. Overall colours are tan and browns, apart from the colourful butterfly. A simply-shaped rotund bird sits on top of a tall leafy stem, beak open. The bird has a pink floral chest, decorated brown back and tail, and a white eye surround by yellow. More stems, colourful and decorative, surround the main stem, with pale, undecorated stems on each side. Musical notes rise in the air away from the bird. A pale sun hangs above. The background is a mottled tan. A softly-drawn meadow filled with colourful flowers. Butterflies flit over the meadow, and a pale yellow sun shines above undulated distant hills against a teal sky. The meadow rises towards the left of the design, ending in a hedge and trees, and a group of birds flying above.

My left-handed (non-dominant hand) painting of a silly orange cat! I have been occasionally practicing and training my left hand to paint as a backup in case my right hand gets fatigued. This is called "Cat in Boat Pose."

Painting of a silling ginger cat stretching with his feet outstretched snd his eyes closed. The background has a few stripes of color. The artist's signature and @joyousjoyfuljoyness watermark are at the bottom.

3 visits from the Ravens this morning and this last one was so lovely. Sound up to hear 3 of Gravy’s calls. One is the hoho contact call. Chips flies in and then they do some bonding. Before I got to know these 2 I hadn’t realised how affectionate birds were to one another 🥰

When magpies fly away they give you a quick irredescent flash of tail and they're off. I always look forward to painting the tail. My husband calls this particular part of painting "pudding"😂
