Kemi Badenoch has basically spent all of PMQs defending both Brexit and the current Brexit deal, which is exactly what Labour and No 10 wanted her to do. For all sorts of Tory-facing reasons, Badenoch cannot shift an inch on Brexit, which as time goes on could be an increasing bind.

Everything that's wrong with government decision-making, neatly encapsulated in one vignette.

TLDR: we're fucked unless governments can find a way out of their myopic short-termism and ludicrous pedantry.

Even shorter version: ****s being ****s.

Emissions from exported oil would not count against carbon budget, insiders say – reasoning likely to draw dismay from climate campaigners

This is big news. Ending the puberty-blocker ban in New Zealand is massive. It puts Cass & the entirety of Labour’s flagship anti-trans policies in doubt.

Yet no mainstream media platform has even mentioned it. Indeed most alternative media, like @bylinetimes.bsky.social have failed to mention it.

Cheaper marmalade.

Beyond pathetic.

Jenrick has set out how Reform would maximise our “Brexit freedoms”.
And this is their list. This is the very best they can come up with.
“Re-legalise imperial units”
It’s truly pathetic that this is the pinnacle of their Brexit fever dream. And that anyone would still back this ruinous idiocy…

I think Cat is struggling to find his paws in the outside world.

It's been less than two weeks since he's been going out (six+ since we moved). But I think his rival, who's about the same age and has lived here his whole life, might have knocked his confidence.

I guess it just takes time...

As a cis woman, my No. 1 criteria for deciding whether to vote for a candidate is “Do: they explicitly support trans people?”

I have yet to find anyone who supports trans rights who doesn’t also support:
- people from other minority/ marginalised communities
- the environment
- financial equality
I hope Josh Turek and Marcy Kaptur lose. If they lose close winnable races, we will point to the votes left on the floor from trans people and their allies. You cannot throw us under the bus and expect our votes.

We're not voting for candidates promising to ban our healthcare.

"Big arenas"

"300 people"

Huh.

I think Mike's numbers might be off.
Mike Johnson: "When I'm in these big arenas, I ask for hands -- 'Show me your hand if you've answered a poll in the last six months.' There will be like three hands among 300 people. I'm telling you, these polls are off. All of them."
