Apart from OOT being a pun on ceramic ocarina, Aonuma said that the visual is to evoke nostalgia (懐かしさ).

i also assumed it was mostly meant to look puppet-like, but it's nice to have an opinion from someone who actually knows the man

My prefered idea for a Zelda Xenoblade game is that of a game that takes place in the "era of the Flood", that is, the time inmediately before "the goddesses" flood Hyrule in the WW backstory.

In the first trailer for #XenobladeGenesis the term Anima was used to refer to what I suspect is a "higher tier" version of Ether. In this (long) thread I intend to examine the uses of Anima and (the clearly suspected) Animus in Xenoblade

The element of light (and to a lesser extent darkness) is a weird one in Xenoblade. In this "essay" I will put forth the idea that it's not an element of ether, and instead pure, unrefined anima (an thus ether is anima refined into elements)

This will sound crazy, but I suspect Eleanor from #XenobladeGenesis may be an incarnation of Link; mostly inspired by the oldschool games. If so, Monolith may be giving us a girl Link before the Zelda team (who probably never would).

First: the description of the "liquid crystals" in Splatoon 3 brings into mind Core Crystals from Xenoblade 2; which would explain most of the weirdness of the setting (ink/octolings are basically blades)

Demons in Zelda seem to come from cracks in the ground, notably (but not necesarily exclusively) Ganon pre-WW, Demise's forces from SS and the Dephts from TotK.

So, assuming a connection between Zelda and Xenoblade, the biggest questions is that of the nature of the Triforce, a divine artifact that can grant any wish. Why does the Triforce exist? Why is the restriction on having the virtues and not for a "good" wish?
