The current size of the Antarctic ozone hole is close to the record observed in 2015. Our forecasts suggest that it may set a new record in the coming days. The good news is that, despite its large size, the 2026 ozone hole is much shallower than the one eleven years ago.

The country's 2015 fire season has been linked to 100,000 premature deaths and produced emissions on a par with the EU's fossil-fuel emissions that year.
