Impeach. Convict. Remove.
I’ve read the transcript of Trump’s speech. Two things: 1. I read transcripts rather than listen because I’m hearing impaired and 2. I can’t stand to hear that man speak. Anyway, the speech starts off with how terrible everything was two years ago. His usual rhetoric, open borders, crime, economic

The Heritage Foundation gave the National Museum of American History a B for “some exhibits have accepted the academic tendency to focus on who has been excluded from the mainstream of American life, rather than focusing more broadly on what Americans did, thought, and said without injecting

Rest in peace, Nolan Xavier Wells. I’m so sorry to his family. I hope you find answers, justice, and peace.

I stayed up late last night and read the transcripts of Trump’s July 3rd and July 4th speeches so you don’t have to. And can I say how much I miss President Obama’s eloquence! He begins both speeches by claiming America is the oldest republic on earth (July 3rd), the greatest nation on earth

The general public: you must read a lot of literary fiction since you’re a librarian

Me: would you like to see my collection of smutty books filled with vampires, witches, faeries, dragons or demons?

Dr. Hayden is also the first Librarian of Congress to have a graduate degree in library science. She holds an MA and PhD. The “next guy” is most likely going to be another unqualified white guy. Trump once again demonstrates how scared he is of intelligent Black women.

I know this has been talked about many times before but I’ll keep asking until insurance companies come up with a justifiable reason why ears, eyes, and teeth are covered differently. Currently dealing with hearing aids issues.

What do books and Harvard University have in common?

They both have a spine.

I’ll see myself out. 😂

They fired the Institute of Museum and Library Services board, informed all employees that they have been terminated and started spewing propaganda on the IMLS social media accounts.

Librarian thoughts: Library records are confidential. We don’t tell anyone what books you have checked out. Apparently we have more security than the Secretary of Defense. 🤦‍♀️

Librarian thoughts: libraries pay Overdrive, Hoopla, Kanopy and other streaming services so that you can check out ebooks, e-audiobooks, e-magazines, and stream music, tv shows, and movies for free. LibGen is theft. Support your local library and support authors.

I’ve heard reports that DOGE raided the Institute for Museum and Library Services this morning. There’s been no reports on it since the shuttering of the Department of Education is dominating the news.

Librarian thoughts: libraries are nonpartisan. That doesn’t mean they aren’t political. Books are political. Who we serve is political. How we serve is political. Librarians are targets of political attacks. Yet we will continue to fight for everyone’s right to read, view, and use our resources.

This is absolute bs! Think about why one side of the aisle is starting a war against librarians.
Rhea Young, the Montgomery County Memorial Library System Director, was abruptly terminated after a coordinated influence campaign to oust her by local conservative groups.

The local blogger behind the campaign has called librarians "groomerbrarians":
