The 24th elevator replacement project of 2026 is complete—making this the second-highest year for elevator replacements in MTA history, with three months to go.

Two modernized elevators are now open at 72 St on the 1/2/3, providing more reliable access to both platforms.

We took delivery of our 1,000th R211 subway car last night at the Railcar Acceptance and Testing Facility—another milestone in modernizing New York City’s subway fleet.

Climate change is already affecting Metro-North’s Hudson Line.

A $19.7 million contract will advance plans to improve drainage, reinforce slopes and retaining walls, and reduce flood risks between Spuyten Duyvil and Hastings-on-Hudson—a stretch used by 25,000 riders each weekday.

A South Bronx landmark, restored for the future.

Built in 1905, the historic headhouse at 149 St–Hostos has been fully restored, while three new elevators provide step-free access to the 2, 4 and 5 trains.

That makes 48 stations made fully accessible since 2020.

22nd elevator replacement project of 2026 is complete.

The latest project brings two modernized elevators to the Prospect Park B/Q/S station.

The on-budget upgrades include new elevator cabs, mechanical and electrical equipment, cameras, intercoms and remote monitoring systems.

Big changes are taking shape at Norwood Av JZ.

Crews started rebuilding a section of the platform that will soon become an accessible boarding area, a key part of the project to deliver full accessibility at the station in 2028, making the whole station accessible with just one elevator.

The Board just approved the award for the third contract for Phase 2 of the Second Avenue Subway.

This contract covers the excavation and construction of the future 106 St Q station— one of the most technically complex parts of the entire project.

The blizzard may be slowing down, but we haven’t taken a snow day. Our crews have been out since yesterday clearing platforms, deploying de-icers, and ensuring that our trains and buses can travel safely during the storm.

We’re grateful to our frontline employees for keeping the city moving.
