We’ll be reposting this over the week to give people an opportunity to join! Please share! Even if you’re not a brown or black Magic player maybe there are people who follow you who are. 💞
We're launching a MelaninMagic Discord! We are very new! This is a space for Black and Brown magic people to relax/ hang out/Jam some games. I'm not a discord savant, but send us a DM and we'll get you added!

Friends! I have NEVER in my 15 years of commander built a Rule zero deck. I wanna change that. The only thing I wanna do is Westvale Abbey. Is starting with a land in the command zone too strong? It counts as my land drop per turn and flipping it is the same requirements as normal.

To elaborate here that people saying “on paper” are also wrong. Just because it doesn’t have the check list items doesn’t mean it doesn’t have synergy. That’s IN the rules about brackets. People who bracket angle are in fact using the system incorrectly. Synergy defines your bracket as much as GC.
Player 2 wins on turn 5 with a Genova deck that just overruns the table. Then we pushed back about it, and they vehemently state, “But it’s a 2. It’s a 2 according to the bracket system.” Yes, but the goal isn’t to push a bracket to its very limits. On paper, a 2. In practice, easy 3 ^. (5/?)

Put 38+ lands in your Commander decks.
You'll mulligan less (or better).
You'll play more real games.
You'll win more.
You'll have more fun or at the very least be less frustrated.

I have been pretty rude to myself lately so I will start fixing that. Let's start with saying that I am extremely proud of the last few decks that I have brewed. They legitimately feel like home. G'raha Tia, Celes, and Eshki Dragonclaw all have made welcome additions to my stable.
