And happy Shag Habour incident day, to all those who are still wondering what the heck happened off the cost of Nova Scotia nearly 60 years ago.
'The Night of the UFOs': Remembering the Oct. 4, 1967, skies over Nova Scotia | CBC News
While Oct. 4, 1967, is known for the Shag Harbour UFO incident in Nova Scotia, there were many other sightings of unexplained objects in the skies over the province that night, leading it to be known ...

Dylan Cease went for an MRI on his shoulder in Toronto last night. That’s what he’s been dealing with for a few weeks now. #BlueJays

He will not start on Wednesday, but Reds series isn’t ruled out yet.

So, there are a whole bunch of us that do not yet have contracts for this upcoming academic year, and yet we are just kind of expected to, I dunno, volunteer starting tomorrow? I don't even have access to my course websites (but my students do, all 250 of them).

This isn't unprofessional at all.

Just finished my latest cutie - a Blackburnian Warbler! Not only did we get some stellar views of one at Biggest Week this year, but they're in the logo for the new local birding club. Thinking of gifting him to the founder for all the fun walks and presentations ❤️ #birdart #sciart #needlefelt

Last week the posy I brought home from the garden had a chrysalis attached though I didn't notice till I got home. If you, like me, haven't watched a butterfly emerge you won't be prepared for how amazing or how long emergence takes #TinyJoys a 🧵

This 1950 newspaper headline caught my attention today:

“Acadian Utopia

Crime-Free, Divorceless Village Plans 300th Birthday”

(As seen at Le Village Historique Acadien de la Nouvelle-Écosse in Lower West Pubnico, Nova Scotia.)

The rule change ends a safeguard that had been in place for 50 years and could hasten the demise of imperiled animals.

I mourn Dlisted often, but I am really missing Michael K’s take-no-prisoners brilliance today. I wish he’d come back just to cover Taylor’s wedding. It would have been such a blast in the sea of breathless guilelessness.

Massive thanks to all the people who are sharing this and helping this book get back out there. It means a lot. Villager was doing well but, due to the collapse of my ex-publishers, went cruelly out of print. Both I and the republished paperback appreciate your love, and its second chance in life.
Hello new followers! I've removed the paywall from this piece, which is a chapter from my novel Villager, told entirely in the form of an online village message board. If you like it, you'll probably like the book. If you don't, you probably won't...

The Village Message Board
Its authenticity was discredited because of his reputation, but also because he was quick with gin at the time and wearing an item of knitwear back to front.
