WHAT’S HAPPENING IN SERBIA?On November 1st, 2024, a railway station canopy collapsed just months after reconstruction, sparking corruption allegations. During a memorial for victims at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, men linked to the ruling party violently attacked students and professors. In response, students launched a campus blockade, demanding:- Full transparency on the station project- Arrests of those who attacked students- Dismissal of charges against protesters- A 20% increase in university fundingThe movement spread nationwide, with students occupying faculties for over three months, sustaining themselves through citizen donations and open voting. Protests have reached 300+ cities, with marchers welcomed as liberators in rural areas.Tensions rise as students face attacks, including cars driven into crowds. March 15, 2025, is expected to be Serbia’s largest protest in history.Other key points:- The blood-red hand is the movement’s symbol; ruling party supporters respond with red middle fingers on schools.- A counter-group, likely government-backed, has turned into a bizarre tourist attraction.- Serbia’s government is backed by Russia, China, the U.S., and the EU.- Madonna’s unexpected support became a viral meme.WHY WALK?Government-controlled media paints students as violent extremists. By marching across Serbia, they bring their truth directly to people in isolated towns, countering propaganda. If you’ve read this far—spread the word. Please.
