You know that thing where you joke about the blorbos but then it won't leave your head? That's what this is.

For day 5 prompt Gods, and inspired by the comic "Javert is in Slash Fiction" from Hark! A Vagrant, I give you: Hark! A Maia.

This is vital. Writing helps us think. So many students are saying they turn to LLMs because they don’t know what to say, and need to hear that not knowing is normal as one starts to write.
historians.org American Historical Association @historians.org · 19h
Do you need to know what you think before you start writing?

Not necessarily, argues historian Lynn Hunt. In a 2010 #AHAPerspectives essay, Hunt explores how the act of writing itself generates new ideas and why getting words on the page is essential to the thinking process.
How Writing Leads to Thinking (and Not the Other Way Around) – AHA
Writing is stressful. Sitting in my computer chair my neck and shoulder muscles almost immediately tense up as I dig around in my brain for the best phrase or even any coherent string of words.

Hellghoul Week Day 3 Prompts: Gothic, Rot, Hunter, Prey, Potions

Fin leads hunters into the forest to kill the wolf while Galadriel’s dreams take a turn

Haladriel, E, 3/7, 9.9

archiveofourown.org/works/95340941
“Did you talk to him while you were both in the forest?” Galadriel tried not to blush as her brother’s eyes immediately narrowed. He always could tell when she was about to lie, somehow. “He was in the distance collecting firewood when I made my way to Friar Círdan,” she muttered. Finrod hummed, an unhappy sound. His voice lowered even further. “We’ll talk when I get back.” “There’s nothing to talk about,” Galadriel hissed as her father hailed his heir to lead the line of men into the darkened forest. “Just let it lie, Fin.” “We’ll see,” he replied, unconvinced. “Now, kiss me for luck, and I’ll be back soon.” Fearfulness won out over anger, and she relented after only a moment of hesitation, stretching up onto her toes to press a kiss to Finrod’s smooth cheek. “Be safe.” Trees trunks visible through heavy mist.

I never saw the forging of The One Ring as a triumphant moment for Sauron, but a gross miscalculation and a moment of humiliation. He splits himself and maims his fëa for power, and in return he gains the ultimate Achilles heel. #lordoftherings #ringsofpower #sauron #art

Seriously though, would you read an AI generated novel or story knowing it was AI? If it was part of a franchise you loved? Was in your favourite genre? A sequel ‘approved’ by the estate if the original author?

Go Hellghoul Haladriels, go!!
archiveofourown.org/works/95340941
“God’s bones, Galadriel. Mercy, for pity’s sake. Have your brothers never played a trick on you before?” His words faded to pained mutterings. Hands flying to her hips, she glared down at the bower below her, answering tartly. "It is because of those very brothers I know to strike first and to imagine the consequences later.” Bending down to peer into the bower, she couldn’t help but smile as she espied her charming blacksmith sitting crosslegged in the shelter while cradling his hand against his chest. “Cruel lady.” His hazel eyes looked up with a mournful expression, “If you are any kind of Christian woman, you will soothe my injury.” Galadriel scoffed, but paired it with a warm smile. “Soothe you, you say? And how would I do that, do you think?” His answering grin was all sharp teeth and the charm of the serpent itself as he reached out his uninjured hand to her. “I am happy to show you.” Picture of a tomb with a praying knight atop it.

🚨NEW POSTER/ TRAILER TOMORROW
October 20, 2026 at 7:25 PM
myrsinemezzo.bsky.social
Upcoming fic for Hellghoul Week: what you get when you’re a haladriel who is intrigued by the trailer for Eggers’ Werewolf
Title is black text on a grey background: Nobody More Monstrous Than Me A campfire with smoke billowing in front of a shadowed triangular shelter Text: Let the beast come for her if it dared. Let whatever man hid within its twisted and monstrous form come for her, as well. She knew what she needed to do and where she needed to go, and the stark moonlight sketched out her path to the heart of the forest and what lay beyond it. The old woman’s cottage sat in a hollow just before the edge of the line of twisted trees that formed the border to the withered heath beyond it. Wyrms were said to live there, with no life beyond the wild grasses and brambles that managed to thrive in its dank soil. Avoided by the villagers and sitting just beyond the influence of Friar Círdan, it would take two hours’ walking to the North to find the witch. But she had nothing but time and determination now. Her heart almost lifted when she spied the small winding tendril of smoke rising above the tree-line. The hollow lay before her. Ungoliant would have the answers she needed. Darkness would know and understand darkness, whether that be the wolf or her need to kill it.
