I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.

First time signing in for a minute. Looks like I need to do age verification - which I won't, because security concerns - to access DM's. :/

Please reach me at my email - [email protected] if you wanna organise a way to stay in touch. Sorry for the inconvenience, this is Australia rules (bad)

Love to see Google joining the ranks of disgusting men excited to replace women in tech with agentic tech that nobody understands. The glee is sickening. Can't wait for the AI bubble to burst 🤭

A kind person just reminded me this video exists.

10 years ago I recorded a 4 minute video on why women leave the tech industry.

10 years later, I still stand by everything I said, and I’m so frustrated at how little the working environment has changed.

I have been back and forth over the span of 5 years about whether to publish this article.

All opinions and experiences in this post are my own, or from people I personally know, backed up with recent reports and statistics.
Why Women in Tech isn't enough
Women in Tech spaces help, but fall short in the long run. Real progress needs systemic change and active involvement from men in positions of power.

I hate commentators who suggest that other countries like Australia aren't better. It's not perfect and our political discourse is heavily affected by whatever's going on in the US but it's absolutely far far better.
