We need to be incentivising people to use less fuel - 17.28bn litres of fuel per year currently. Imagine what £1.7bn per year could do to active & public transport.

Dismayed by defeat of the assisted dying bill. Nothing was won today – no new palliative care funding, no new disability support. And the suffering that brought this bill to parliament remains.

Ultimately, Rayner is making the right call here imo
Plans for a Greater Oxford Council have been dramatically halted. The Government has unexpectedly launched a review into the planned reorganisation - meaning Oxfordshire County Council continues for now. Oxfordshire is one of 14 areas where plans have been paused for a review to take place.

As POETS identified in the same doc, instead of using ONS growth rates of 0.5%, Oxford City inflated the rates to 2.9%, to grow tiny Greater Oxford from 240k population to 345k by 2040

Visited Marcham Road Hospital this morning and saw the newly refurbished Abingdon EMU with Emma Leaver, COO at Oxford Health
£1.1m from NHS England for same-day urgent care that keeps people out of the JR overnight
Also saw the stroke rehab unit, podiatry and MIU. Brilliant staff.
