The latest in a recent string of legal stumbling blocks that have slowed down the release of water for the environment. There has been a long running campaign from those who do not support environmental water to undermine its release and it's working for them.

Requiring DAs for large developments would be a great opportunity to introduce requirements to stop harmful chemical drift. 🫐🌳💧

We love citizen science! The Australian Museum's FrogID project is testament to the power of community in environmental monitoring. In just 7 years 92% of frog species were recorded by citizen science in NSW. 🐸

Minister Watt has flagged that the federal government is considering purchasing water from the northern part of the basin for the first time. However, unless NSW water rules provide enough basic flows at the right time, that water won't get far.

Like Golden Perch, Murray-Cod need to be able to swim hundreds of kms as they seek new breeding territory and food sources. Unfortunately, humans have made that very hard by building thousands of dams and weirs.
