During our transit to Guam, our new EM304 sonar mapped a swath to the full depth of this section of the #MarianaTrench, with the deepest depth observed being 9,413 meters.

Who doesn’t love a #DumboOctopus? This one was spotted during a 2019 dive on Kingman Ridges. Dumbos are known for having prominent ear-like fins that extend from the mantle above each eye. Did you know dumbo octopus refers to not one, but a whole genus of umbrella-armed species.
