People need to understand if the conflict ended today and US forces withdrew and agreed to personally assist in reconstructing the damage, oil flows would still take months to years to get back to normal.
Now extrapolate from there with the understanding none of that is happening.

I know what you saying, especially the "deep south." My grandfather ran away from NC to NYC, made a family there, but retired in MD.
The fact is, Maryland and DC has long held a space for southern families to escape to. In our family we don't consider it "the south" because it was often a sanctuary from the "deep south".
