Brutal and very unexpected. What a gut punch for the Angelman community. Also a good reminder that you shouldn't get your hopes up too high based on promising data in early-stage trials that aren't powered for efficacy, especially in rare diseases where phenotypes are often quite heterogeneous.

It's endlessly frustrating to work in a field where no matter how much you try to do everything correctly, there's no shortage of people willing to endanger the lives of patients chasing after the near non-existent efficacy of AAV9.
