Friday Flowers - grape hyacinths and my Leonardo x Hatch Momento Zero Aster Bouquet. The “vase” is a repurposed empty Iroshizuku bottle - perfect for those tiny spring flowers. FYI, a new batch of Aster Bouquet pens will be arriving soon at Endless Pens if you missed it the first time #fountainpen

Turquoise Tuesday - two Sailor 1911 Frescas (KOP Medium and 14k EF) and a pretty new notebook, a Baltimore pen show purchase from Stationery Universe. Warm white paper, FP-friendly, but a bit of show-through with a wet nib and flex nib. This will be my 2026 gardening journal #fountainpen

Friday Flowers - Narcissus ‘Pink Charm,’ which is really more of a peach, but it’s very pretty. Fountain pen: a lovely Drewnem Pisane Magic Garden from last year’s DC Pen Show

Friday Flowers - quince blossoms. The shrub really needs a major rejuvenation pruning but the thorns make it an unattractive proposition. Pen: Cypress Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in Pink. Pen rest: Galen Leather.

Wednesday Words - the only ones I care about this week! My right hand fracture is healed, I am brace free and focused on getting my hand strength and range of motion back. Playing with pens will definitely help. I dashed this off with a Hocoro Fude. Ink: Diamine Tariff Teal, a sample from a friend.

Friday Flowers - Hellebores! Hi Bluesky! I have been quiet for a while due to a broken dominant hand (slipped and feel on ice). But I have fresh flowers for you today. Pens: ST Dupont Firehead Guilloche and Scribo Feel Erre. Swipe to see some of the flowers in the garden. #fountainpen

Wednesday Words - Mary Oliver. Pen: Sailor Pro Gear Winter Sky with a Zoom nib turned architect by Kirk Speer @penrealm. I always ink this one up in January. The ink is Sailor Manyo Fuji, and I love how this nib shows off chromoshading inks. #fountainpen

Have a lovely Turquoise Tuesday, everyone - Visconti Divina Wave and a pretty mug

2025 - the Nibbage. I love jobs, ALL kinds. And after several decades in this hobby I am always looking for new nib experiences and experimenting with how to adjust my writing to get the most of a nib. Here sre the nibs of either new pens or old pens with new grinds in 2025 #fountainpen

Friday Flowers Flashback to September’s Onesta dahlias. Pen: Waldmann Xetra Vienna white/rose gold

Inkvent Day 25 - Myrrh the Merrier is a very sheeny deep blue-leaning teal with blue shimmer. To me it looks like a darker, blue shimmer version of Day 1’s Celestial Skies (I prefer the latter). Myrrh is pretty, but darker, sheenier and messier. Pen: Kilk x Hatch Epigram Dusk #fountainpen

2025 was a very good year for new blurple inks! purple Gallinule isn’t a new release but it was new to me. I love blurples! #fountainpen
December 25, 2025 at 1:21 PM
Inkvent Day 24 - Antler is a pigment ink, taupe with a pinkish undertone. IMO this is the most useful of all the pigment inks in the set and it will make a nice sketching ink. The comparisons are to DeAtramentis Document waterproof brown inks. Pen: Sailor King of Pens Naginata Togi Ebonite Umesaki.

Inkvent Day 23 - Let it Snow, perfectly timed for Turquoise Tuesday! This is a light turquoise with supposedly chameleon shimmer, though to me it just looks like a similar turquoise to the base ink itself. (Cont’d) Pen: River City Pen Co. In Dupras Arctic Ice.

Inkvent Day 22 - Pineapple Spritz - a pigment ink with chameleon shimmer. Not a fan. I had to go over the lines a few times to make it more legible. Not a fan of this one. Art ink only, I’d say. Comparisons are to other Diamine yellow/gold shimmers. Pen: Esterbrook Estie Peacock #fountainpen

The most interesting “neutral” inks I tried in 2025. The term neutral is subjective, of course, and some have quite colorful undertones, but that’s the fun of complex neutrals. Pic one on Tomoe River paper, pic 2 on Wearingeul swatch cards. Many of them look different depending on paper

Inkvent Day 21 -Chaos is another Extreme Sheen ink, a deep, plummy burgundy with very strong green sheen. The triangle interiors shapes on the ornament are an ink and water mix and I laid the ink down heavily on the borders to show the extreme sheen. (Cont’d) Pen: Purple Twist by Tamenuri Studio
December 21, 2025 at 12:50 PM
Inkvent Day 20 - Ambiance. This light, peachy pink/coral ink looks very much like Celebration from the Inkvent a few years ago, but with a pinkish purple/orange chameleon shimmer shimmer vs the more peachy shimmer of Celebration. Pen: Cypress urushi pen - Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in Pink
December 20, 2025 at 12:50 PM
Diamine Day 19 - Overcast. A light, multi-shading blue green. I immediately thought of Celadon Cat when I swabbed this one, and indeed they are pretty close, with Celadon Cat being a bit greener and more muted. (Cont’d) Pen: Scriptorium Idyll in Brooks Abalone
December 19, 2025 at 12:33 PM
Diamine Inkvent Day 18 - Laurel. Another extreme sheener with very nice chroma. In writing this is a cool, dark green ink that gets mostly covered by a red sheen. Add a little water and you get a range of super pretty greenish teal tones. (Cont’d) Pen: Atelier Lusso Hydra in Brooks Peacock Koi
December 18, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Diamine Inkvent Day 17 - Gala. I don’t use light purples as often as the medium to darker ones, I have to give this ink kudos for being different from ALL the dozens of purple bottles and samples I own. Not a small feat. (Cont’d) Pen: Montegrappa Mia Veri Peri
