the problem with how power works is that democracy in any real sense is annoying because you have to do the grueling work of convincing people overall to give a shit about your causes
Control 2 is like what if Watch_Dogs was Metal Great Rising Revengance but Crysis 2

the problem with being pretty good at both ADHD and self learning is that usually I'll look at the price of Hiring A Guy to fix my whatever and just buy power tools for the cost instead.

71 in Boston, the el nino stuff is going to make winter very weird
Currently 88° in Chicago. In mid-October. We've officially smashed the 10/12 heat record of 85°, which was previously set in 2008

I've heard every summer going forward will be the coolest summer of the rest of our lives as temps keep climbing higher each year. Seems the same may be true of Fall

the biggest issue with smartphones is every app requires like 3 taps and maybe a search to get to the thing i actually need to see to organize my life

does anyone have a better home assistant sunrise/sunset dimming and color matching plugin than Adaptive Lighting on HACS btw? the newest updates breaks android's ability to toggle lights from the quick panel and have for a few months

the home assistant UX feels like no one ever intended it to be used to turn on or off lights

Doing a pre-dawn house raid is obviously being done as thuggish intimidation and as a literally violent assault on her and her family. Overaggressive raids happen in other contexts but in this case it's going out of their way to do politically targeted state terrorism.

To start with, this is happening because the president has targeted a member of Congress as part of a broader explicitly racist hate campaign against Americans of a particular ethnic origin. There's no other way to put it.

There will be a lot of equivocating about all the times search warrants have been executed on members of Congress for corruption investigations and the like, and it can't be stressed enough in how many ways HSI raiding Ilhan Omar is extremely not like that.

I wonder if the US administration understands why having datacenters (DC) trending is bad for them when it also keeps other forms of topics abbreviated to DC in the top of the feeds lol
October 12, 2026 at 8:13 PM
it's so bald-faced that the datacenter stuff hasn't yielded at the very least huge research into carbon exhaust capture/reduction and higher efficiency turbines like it would have as the "compromise" were it 2015

Control 2 is basically metal gear rising revengance so far but I'm only a bit into it.

my review is if you're like early to mid thirties this game is pretty well paced for making you want to get up and do other things so far, 8/10 but i just started.
this string of thoughts brought to you by the new Control game and me suddenly banging out a chunk of paperwork after getting bored of dying due to issues with having dash and sprint on the same key for the moment

the key is to procrastinate hard and fast enough that you burn out about it and get distracted by ideas about your actual work. this is not medical advice I am not a lawyer

that said one of the coolest things about not reading the manual is doing something, going "surely this is just me overthinking this and there's an easier solution than the one I just did" and then learning the manual doesn't think it's possible

part of why it's important to loudly reject obvious moral abominations like "curing cancer is less important than my job satisfaction" is that well meaning and intelligent non-specialists are at risk of adopting variants of this thesis without understanding them otherwise :)

"In practice" she's supposed to be censured for this, then temporary suspension of a license, then permanent suspension.

Medical fields are, unfortunately, scared shitless to actually do the last 2. And the later nearly never happens these days.

This has harmed the professions gravely as a result
