Had the rule gone into effect, the Post Office would have been compelled to refuse delivery of ballots that did not comport with a hastily constructed rule loaded with boobytraps and barriers, which would have denied millions of voters the convenience and security of voting by mail.

All this talk of AI “sandboxes” reminds me of Matt Kirschenbaum’s work on “sand tables” — ancient interactive platforms — which he shared maybe ~10 yrs ago on a “media furniture” panel Craig Robertson and I organized :)
