Rounding off this week with a photo that we took when we were in Liverpool.
Still saying it - with a little help from our friends 😁

I don't think I've managed more than 3 consecutive hours sleep in a week. I'm averaging 20 minute bouts and then waking up whimpering. Bloody miserable. n

The amount of pain I'm in and how exhausted I am, physically and emotionally, is absolutely pushing me towards a crisis. I hate feeling it coming like this, I don't have any way of stopping it

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:

I'm gonna lose my shit at how stressed I already am about having to try and get the NHS to do the bare fucking minimum - 26 hours after I got told about various ridiculous things my body may be doing that need testing for.

Being estranged from all but one of my bio relatives and being told I've probably got a genetic disorder is a messy situation to be in. Quite the ethical conundrum on all sides.

Well I would have been diagnosed with hEDS today, but I'm being sent for genetic testing for cEDS instead.

My son was told about affirmative consent his entire life, so much so that I was wrestling with the cat which was growling at me (not seriously and she was a cat who growled when she was playing also when she ate food) and my toddler son told me that the cat said no.
That shit's not hard to teach.

Someone needs to invent some sort of jaw orthotic that is more functional than just wrapping my head like the ghost of Marley

Church was properly special this morning ☺️ I managed to get there in person again! The buses were running properly and someone helped me down the treacherous hill so it was so much easier too.

6kg cat is now asleep on me. He tried to push my kneecap out of the way because it's too lumpy to lie on. Fair enough I guess.

Had it confirmed that there is no way to access a local major supermarket as a wheelchair user unless you arrive by car. Because a landlord won't give permission for a new lift and the old one was condemned, years ago!

The fact that many of the people on UC are also working is not mentioned until way, way down in this Times story. Same for the detail that lots of previous benefits have been phased out and rolled into UC.

But above all, the TPA is a pressure group funded by people who avoid and evade tax.

Welp. 26 today. Birthdays don't get any easier, not any less lonely.

Made vegan trifle to celebrate my unbirthday (I am home alone for actual birthday :/ ) and it was actually banging (and importantly, edible for my ridiculously useless stomach)

Having FND episodes/seizures in public is so embarrassing. Part of me (a big part) wants to never leave the house again. Really helpfully, the lift I have to use to get out of our housing development without getting up a ridiculous hill is broken, again.
September 18, 2026 at 10:35 PM
I am truly sick of having FND already. These seizure things are the worst.

Somehow I started this year near enough bedbound and now I have plans to go out every day next week and it'll probably be fine? Having resources for assitive aids/tech, safe exercise and human support is literally life changing. I'm so lucky.

I think I had 2 confusing hours this morning of not having any migraine symptoms at all? Coming back now, my face is half numb and staticky, but that's a first in... 2.5 years?

He’d be believed, because it would feel right … because people wanted to believe things, because it’d make a good tale, because if you made it glitter sufficiently glass could appear more like a diamond than a diamond did.

Words are important. And when there is a critical mass of them, they change the nature of the universe.

(continuing with a short journey through Going Postal, by Terry Pratchett…)
Not doing any magic at all was the chief task of wizards—not ‘not doing magic’ because they couldn’t do magic, but not doing magic when they could do and didn’t. Any ignorant fool can fail to turn someone else into a frog. You have to be clever to refrain from doing it when you know how easy it is.

I did it! I managed the whole thing and it feels amazing
Deciding to try and get to church on a Sunday morning for the first time in years on a day the buses aren't running is an interesting decision to be stubborn about... so also turning into planning for my longest wheel yet...
