I get a classroom back this year! 🎉🎉🎉I need some things to get set back up and get kids engaged in music. Thank you in advance if you decide to contribute in this way! But please let me know that a package is coming so I can look for it in my package room. Thank you!

I started singing a goodbye song with ALL my students this year, K-5. One of my 5th graders told me today that it's his favorite song. 🤣

Today's Beatles song is Golden Slumbers, released in 1969 on Abbey Road. It was recorded as one with ‘Carry That Weight’, and based on a poem written by the Elizabethan poet and dramatist Thomas Dekker (1570-1632).

I went into the cafeteria after school today for something. I went to leave and a student was holding the doors closed, and she asked, “What’s the password?” So I said, “[Student’s name] is the most wonderful girl in the world!” She said, “That is correct!” And let me through 😂

Why did the guy behind me, who had the same food as me, but twice as much, get his food before I did?!

I just really hate when people have the perspective of me slacking because I work my ass off. I go above and beyond. That email I got about my chorus is really still irking me.

Today's Beatles song is a solo Paul song, Jenny Wren, released in 2005 on Chaos and Creation in the Backyard. The name was partly based on the character in Our Mutual Friend, Charles Dickens’ final completed novel.

OMG. I have NEVER had to bring chorus to SD before. I'm being scolded for not doing this. And for not telling the office and admin about it. I actually told admin about it at my benchmark conference three weeks ago, AND office staff translated and copied my permission slips.

We have a Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week starting Thursday, which I think is great considering 86% of my school is Hispanic. I don't know how to participate as a white person. I want to support my students but I don't want to appropriate their culture.

I was supposed to receive a package today, and the tracking still says it’s going to arrive by 9 pm, but it also says it’s been at the Bedford Park distribution center for the past 5 hours. My packages don’t usually go through there. And it’s USPS, so I highly doubt it’s coming today.

At least I received my ballot in the mail today!

Today's Beatles song is Happiness is a Warm Gun, released in 1968 on The Beatles (White Album). It took its title from an American gun magazine, which Johnn saw in the studio at Abbey Road. He "thought it was a fantastic, insane thing to say."

Are you kidding me? I can’t get gas at the Speedway by school because it’s closed and they’re redoing it. So I went to the one by my house even though it’s slightly out of my way so I can use my coupon. And now that is one is closed for construction, too! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I’m sorry, we’re really having a shower for a 2nd baby? She just had a baby last year. I don’t do anything beyond a first baby. I am a single woman and we have a lot of young teachers here who have gotten married and/or had babies the past several years. I cannot keep buying all these gifts.

So…with one song left before intermission, they put the show on hold for several minutes. It resumed and now we’re at intermission, but geez, what is going on with this show?!

This is an awful lot of work for a musical I don't even want to see that much. Called to exchange when I wasn't feeling well. Went all the way there last weekend just for it to be canceled, and had to exchange again, and now going all the way there again today. I should have just asked for a refund.

Today's Beatles song is Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, released in 1968 on The Beatles (White Album). It was an attempt at a ska-influenced recording, although the title phrase came from a Nigerian friend. Paul paid him just for that.

@klausbromi.bsky.social Do you do the mail-in ballot, and if so, have you gotten yours? Just wondering because my mom got hers today and I haven’t, and I got the notification about it 9 days ago already. And maybe Lisle is just taking a little longer.
