NATO’s eastern European members are offering to cut costs for US troops stationed on their soil to discourage the Trump administration from reducing its military footprint there, according to people familiar with the matter.

NATO 3.0 to Emerge at Ankara Summit Amid Fragile Unity
European allies and Canada will try to ease recurring tensions with President Trump by stepping up in a rebalanced alliance: NATO 3.0. But transatlantic unity remains fragile.

Russia is increasingly recruiting young people online to destabilise democracies. Its attacks are increasingly brazen & go all the way to the Russian state, as shown by the arson targeting the U.K. Prime Minister sir Keir Starmer. Read this BBC investigation.

Will the NATO summit in Ankara be a make or break moment? It needs to show Europe & Canada taking greater responsibility+turning cash into capabilities while keeping the US engaged in the alliance. Support to Ukraine remains key& the M East cannot be ignored. My take for @epc-official.bsky.social

There’s no provision in NATO’s founding treaty for suspending an ally or downgrading its representation. It’s hard to know how to take the Pentagon email beyond ideological trolling. My take for @politico.com @victorjack.bsky.social
