It's ironic that later Buddhist tradition imputed omniscience to buddhas since Shakyamuni kind of explicitly rejected Jainism/Mahavira on the grounds that they were lying about enlightenment entailing omniscience. Then when his own followers credit him with being omniscient, he explicitly denied it.

The problem with our society is that people in power believe pseudoscience and bunk economics. The reason for this is because the masses are also stupid, therefore voters believe in pseudoscience and bunk economics. But also, the system is structured so that your vote counts more if you are stupid.

Apparently Shakyamuni actually had three wives and, possibly, other children. Early Buddhist Texts confirm the additional wives. I guess we only hear about Yasodara and Rahula because they joined the sangha. I'll be digging deeper into this for a blog post soon.

Somebody was explaining to me how facts change depending on whether or not you believe in them and this is why you can't prove aliens have visited Earth, because looking for evidence implies disbelief, which makes the evidence stop existing.

Raw milk is just regular milk with E coli, lysteria, and salmonella in it. It's literally just milk that would have been recalled if it was sold in stores. It doesn't even taste different.
