The key to getting low-information voters to vote for Democrats or just to sit out elections is to do everything possible to brand Republicans and especially Trump as stupid losers that are embarrassing to associate with. Make them the NY Jets fans of politics.

"Weird" was OK, but I really wish someone would call Republican voters what they are: Suckers. These are dumb rubes who fall for the wallet inspector routine over and over again. They spend their last pennies on magic beans because are in the constant thrall of some grifter. Be meaner to them.
This is why “weird” was working in the first part of the 2024 campaign and I was dumbfounded when they made Walz stop.

And they still have their thumbs on the scales. Questions like "should prayer be allowed in public schools?" and "should the government promote traditional gender roles?" do not accurately reflect the actual policies in dispute, they're both sanewashing to make GOP policies look less malicious.

Most people are not policy experts. Therefore it's easy to produce a poll that finds that most people do not advocate for any particular sophisticated policy position. Centrists use this as a weapon against progress, which is bad.

My brother-in-law, a policeman in England, went to the US as part of some kind of policing exchange programme. He came back utterly appalled by US cop culture and no longer considers them police at all. And he went out there in total fanboy mode.
