After five days without electricity and 13 days without running water, I can say that I am definitely missing creature comforts. But here are a couple of nice pics from a walk.

I hate asking but if you have any spare money, my daughter and I would appreciate it a lot.

Living in a small village in Rwanda is harder than I imagined as an American used to ease. I have adjusted to the vast food differences, the lack of running hot water, and the inconvenience of everything. I am not handling hours without electricity (up to 14 a day) or now the lack of water well.

This made me cry—in a good way.

It’s the opposite of toxic masculinity.
This is true, healthy masculinity. More men should strive to be more like this. It takes practice and consistent intentionality. 🖤

Jason Ardray’s death by a thousand cuts is everything that is wrong with racism and ableism in the UK, the US, and and and. Heartbroken.💔

Why would you not want this? Asking seriously.

I am afraid that my dog may not be able to travel with me to Rwanda because of airline requirements of a titer test that takes over a month. Very frustrating.

In continuing facts that blow my mind: we do not have a wetness sensor. Cognitively I understand this, but what does wet actually feel like to those species with such a sense. 🤯

Playing Tetris with luggage. What goes to Rwanda and what does not?

PS5 and gear check
Expresso machine check
Lays potato chips check
Tortilla press check
Bike check

Real question: can Beshear mobilize the national guard to find their missing senator?

I am back in the states now and it is oppressive here in more ways than one.

Lindsay graham was a fantastic example of someone who had already lost their soul and was walking dead among us, trying to destroy all that we love in life. May he find the karma he deserved.

Yeah this looks good. It's a london restaurant emulating appalachian flavors, i don't expect them to serve like pepperoni rolls. Of course the ultimate test is how their collard greens taste. It always comes down to the collard greens.
Are the Americans awake yet?

Okay so a restaurant just opened in London called ‘Appalachia’ and this is their ‘June’ menu; discuss

Do NOT do this. Bamboo is invasive and not exactly good for the environment either. Do one moment of actual thought and plant something illegal to remove and indigenous like elderberry is in many places.

On my way to Kigali today for a two week exploration, prepping for the true move in August. So nervous and excited all at once!

I don’t understand why almost nobody is talking/writing about the collapse of cognition.

Everything everywhere is completely stupid and “how did we get there” is barely scratched.

It’s not just the death of expertise or whatever. It’s complete cognitive catabolic collapse at the societal level.

Movers came today. Still so much to do, but the dream is slowly becoming reality…..two weeks from today I’ll step off the plane in Kigali.

In every aspect of American history you will run smack dab into the critical contributions of Black people.

It’s not Black history. It’s American history. Trying to erase it is a fool’s errand. We live it every day.
