Today would've been the sixty-fifth birthday of Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi.
It tends to get swallowed up in the enormous franchise it became, but I truly believe that his original manga can provide a valuable lesson to artists about process and work and improvement over time.

Raising children in the midst of genocide is a strain most of us can't even imagine, but to my friend Sama'a it is her daily reality. Please give what you can to help.

I really agree with this, as someone who really is learning to exercise more patience with the process as i work with watercolour more, even though it really goes against my usual methods. It's been really worth it!
Still trying to decide if pencil crayon is a medium I like working in. These last two drawings make me feel like I do. I think it's important as artists to muck around with mediums that make us struggle and then not give up on them when we feel like we've got no idea what we're even doing with it.

I'm seeing a few folks unaware during the whole "moving from Tapas to ComicFury" scenario that bears repeating: ComicFury does NOT have an app!
Do not download whatever fake CF app is out there. CF has a custom-built mobile viewer on most of its hosted sites. Use the browser website!!

In this period of time filled with AI stupidity, let's celebrate those we are not celebrating enough:
Art supporters, Art commissioners
THANK YOU!
Thanks to YOU, many artists can do what they do the best and keep being productive but most importantly
Artists can LIVE!

Hand-drawn, paint-bucket-filled pig with comic sans? You know you’re buying food from an earnest small business person with a nephew who “knows graphic design.” Bob cares about doing a good job, but is working with a modest budget.
AI logo? You don’t know WHAT you’re getting. Slop, assumedly.

I’m not the first person to make this observation but the prevalence of nauseating ai-generated business logos means stuff like this hits CRAZY for me now

thanks to the whole payment processor ordeal selling pornography online is basically functionally illegal now and the only reason anyone's still making any money is uneven enforcement, and all the non-porn people I've talked to about this either have no idea it's happening or assume I'm exaggerating

Our society's unfathomable cruelty to homeless people is not just morally unjustifiable, but more expensive than housing people would be.
Cruelty against the homeless is an unaffordable luxury. Abandoning homeless people to avoid offending the Protestant work ethic is an unaffordable luxury.

ProPublica spoke to dozens of people who had lived in homeless encampments when cities cleared them out in “sweeps.”
We distributed notecards so people could tell us about the toll in their own words.
