Denis father hardly ever spoke to his son, nor actually referred to Denis *as* his son. (Being the firstborn, he had wanted Denis to be born male). Despite being incredibly elderly and sick, he is stubbornly hanging on to life and this fact makes Denis SO angry. He hates his father.

Literally this. I have PCOS causing me to grow a beard and my naturally broad shoulders and freakish height for being 'a woman'.
I've been called a trans woman as an AFAB Non-Binary person. Identity is weird. It shouldn't matter to anyone but the person experiencing it. Just let. People. Be!
