Well Happy Easter - thats another lent done. I’ve fasted for 16-18 hours a day and gave up chocolate/sweets/bread/biscuits etc. In addition to going vegan. Quite the challenge. Feeling the benefits. Blood pressure down, weight down 18lbs or so and found a new love for chickpeas and tofu!

I find it interesting that @irishtimes.com are using WEST (Western Europe Summer Time) for the clock change instead of the legally recognised IST (Irish Standard Time). I’ve never used WEST before. Mind you IST can be confused with Indian Standard Time. I’ve used UTC+1/Dublin time for work purposes.

Had a weigh-in today with the nurse. In 5 weeks I’ve lost almost 8kg and 4cm from around the belly. Face is starting to look less bloated. Massive progress. Broke fast after this - 18 hours too, with a 500 calorie/40g of protein dish of left overs with added smoked tofu.

So after 8 days on the new me diet I’ve lost 2.9kg. Eating two meals a day. Getting around 90g of protein with a 800 daily calorie deficit. Not bad for a fully vegan diet too. Some of my very filling meals. TVP arriving this week - so I’ve got to experiment with more new food options.

Just some of our meals this week. I’m fasting 17 hours a day. Two meals only. And in a calorie deficit of around 800/1000 a day. Trying to get the protein up.

So my weight has been fluctuating. A lot. In 16 years I’ve gain 60lbs. Back in 2011 I was running half marathons. Enough. So last month I spoke to my doctor, did lots of bloods. Found out I’m deficient in Vit D. Have a dietitian & in a weight loss clinic & have a therapist. Diet started last week.
