Delighted to stumble upon this riveting book from Persephone. #DespisedAndRejected - what a title! It starts as a social comedy but becomes a fascinating study of thwarted gay desire, and pacifist ideals during the Great War.Told from a 1918 perspective; the year it was published – and banned.

I’m always wary when a film I loved is turned into musical theatre but the @nationaltheatre.org.uk excels with its production of #Pride. Energetic, funny and sorrowful numbers with a superb cast, faithful to the original movie and the real people.
