I really need journalists to learn that every time OpenAI or Anthropic or xAI says that their model has broken containment and could destroy humanity that it’s a marketing pitch by companies running out of cash with high overheads and no profitable business model wanting more investment.

I’ve again been asked “why do sharks stick their dorsal fins out of the water?”
This happens because shark’s dorsal fins are on top of, and therefore higher than, the rest of the shark.
And sometimes the shark is in shallow water or near the surface.
